Will the dye get dry if u don't use it for awhile? Normal ink printers tempt to get dried after awhile.

I just got this printer for Christmas and it is not working, I got it to print two pictures but it seems like you have to reconnect even between pictures. I was hoping you could add the printer to your bookmarks like my HP home printer and my sproket, this is such a hassle I may send it back.
