I used to commute to Eddington for a job at a nearby office park. I now use this line to/from Trenton connecting with NJ Transit to/from New York. That stretch of track alongside I-95 is always jammed with traffic. The train just glides through!! Thanks for a great ride and commentary 😀😀♥️♥️

I used to live in Andalusia and commute to 30th Street Station using the old Andalusia station between 1980 and 1982. Good times! There is a street named "Tennis Avenue" that runs between Route 13 and State Road in Andalusia. It goes over Interstate 95 as well as the NE corridor. The Andalusia train station was right next to Tennis Avenue. You had to take stairs to get down to the station.

North Philadelphia was where the Broadway Limited stopped for Philly. In order to get to 30th Street, Suburban Station or Broad Street Station, one would have to change trains.

Andalusia is a historic neighborhood and unincorporated community in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, bordering Philadelphia along the Poquessing Creek. It's just north of Torresdale and the Philadelphia City Line. The City Line loop of SEPTA's Rt. 66 trackless trolley line on Frankford Avenue is where Andalusia begins.

I my memory is wright Andalusia is just in Bucks County and Torresdale is in Philadelphia.

When you first mentioned Andalusia, you were right at the spot where the platform had been! It is in Bucks, not Philly.

At 35:20, I remember that reverse move track on the ACES casino train to AC back in the 2000s. They'd switch to diesel power to get down to AC. Too bad they never fixed the old line through NJ to AC that the famous train, The Blue Comet, used to use. The tracks are still there through the Pinelands.

At Shore Interlocking {Frankford Jct.} you said the N. J. Transit trains are coming from Atlantic City and Camden. Not Camden. To get to Camden, you'd have to cross the Delair Bridge to the Pennsauken Transit Center transfer station {which I had put in for 80 million dollars} and transfer to one of our RiverLINE light rail cars for the ride down to Camden.

Reminds me of the New Haven line.

US 13 changes sides along the NEC in Philadelphia; it's on the north side between Wilmington and Philadelphia - it passes through Chester and Marcus Hook as 10th Street. Market Street - PA 452 - ends @ 10th. Interstate 95 is on the southern (opposite) side - paralleled by CSX (and Conrail before then) ALSO between Wilmington and Philadelphia.

This along with the West Trenton Line are SEPTA’S access to Philadelphia from New Jersey’s state capital.

But a cheaper way to Philadelphia from Trenton is take NJ TRANSIT’S River Line from Trenton Transit Center to Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden then connect to the PATCO Speedline into Center City Philadelphia as that only costs $3 ($1.60 for the River Line, and $1.40 for PATCO) one way.

Pls,pls, can you do the West Trenton line from Langhorne to Phila?

Question: Is the train into Philly always that slow? The approach to stations reminded me of cruise ships. Slow, but steady! I always used to ride out of Reading Terminal or later, Jefferson Station, up to Colmar on the Doylestown line. I grew up riding trolley cars and the Broad St Subway and miss it so much that when I visit from Florida, I naturally have to include public transit for old times sake. Great video...enjoyed hearing about the historical stations, stops and mishaps along the way.

That train is flying....i think because of the camera equipment possibly being a bit close or zoomed in you don't really get the full affect. It does look like its going slow.

For a faster ride, adjust the playback speed to 2X.

Andalusia is a neighborhood in Bensalem Township, Bucks County. It would have come before Torresdale, which is less than a block within city limits.
