To all those who say, "What has society came to?" It is not dance's fault, its music's and the people's fault. The beat of jazz inspires swing dancing, and the beat of today's music, well that inspires the conduct of today... You couldn't even call it dancing, you don't even move your feet! Why does society like music with the booming bass? I don't know, but that is what we are stuck with in the 21st Century, and all I have to say is the United States culture is shooting itself in the foot by forgetting how to dance. Its events like these that save it from a vicious cycle of devolution. That's why I am here on this video. I want to learn to swing, and experience this classic culture! Plus it looks fun!
@SmilePileProd9 жыл бұрын
the music of today mainly inspires Cha cha, rhumba, or three step swing, sometimes a westcoast. Booming bass maybe a merengue. I'm not sure your point.

My wife and I started dancing in January, after about 4-6 months we were comfortable dancing together at social dances. Dancing with other people is a bit different, it all depends how confident you are I suppose, but now I am comfortable dancing with anyone in our dance classes at social dances and don't mind dancing with strangers, as long as they love dancing and are happy dancing with someone with a little less experience, I'm good with it. Actually, most people are happy to dance with someone else no matter what experience you have, as long as YOU are enjoying it :)

Most who have a lot of talent or musical/athletic inclination take about 1 year to feel comfortable with a lot of the movement and if you just want to have fun and swing around all you need is a few lessons and a big smile :-D in fact, that happy smile is the most important thing above all else w/ Lindy Hop
