Fast Trike Tour Residential Community

I thought I would do communities as a way of breaking up the monotony of just riding the Neuse River Trail. This video picks up with me leaving out from Centennial Park Located in Garner North Carolina, and making a left on new Bethel Road. I did that residential ride video A couple of weeks back and I did get some positive feedback about the video. So I wanted to start a playlist where I ride through residential areas and do a street ride. My thought is I’m combining my 2 loves riding a recumbent trike and riding through communities.
I think NC is the most beautiful place you could live and it’s no wonder it’s always of the top areas to live. My goal is not to recruit you to live in NC but I want to share some of its beauty from the seat of a recumbent trike.
This area is always being recognized for titles like the best place to live, the best place to retire, the best school system, and one of the fastest-growing areas in the country. I want to give you an opportunity to see why. Garner has about 28,000 population.

Garner looks like a little slice of paradise. Up North, we are getting ready for winter. Still out riding everyday. Had to put a mountain bike tire on the rear of my trike to give me a little more traction. So, UNC or Duke?

Hey Jim, take your pick either one will work. I’m getting geared up also. I was trying to find a bike shop locally that has cold-weather gear because I really don’t want to buy it off-line at least not the very first time I’m buying it. Mostly because of sizing and I want to be able to touch it and feel it. Maybe I’m a little old-school when it comes to this. I might have to bite the bullet and just buy something off-line.

Do you plan these rides out? I explored some local places and got turned around and bewildered so I plan the ride just in case using ride with gps. Nice production.

Robert, I try to plan his rides out and sometimes things don’t work out like I planned and I just have to go with it.

What do you use George with regards flags, lights, etc. to keep yourself safe out on the road vs. the trail? I’ve heard horror stories about road touring with trikes sitting so low even when using flags and such. I’m sure that you’ve heard the same.

Hey Scott, yeah I’ve heard those stories as well. And obviously safety first. But I have a front light and a back blinking light and I have a light on my flag. Hopefully that’s enough.

Great ride and a super production. Nice tour of some beautiful new neighborhoods. Looks like a great place to live.your on street riding was sweet....no traffic at all....you are a lucky guy to be able to get out and about without getting buzzed by cars and trucks. Your skills are really improving with each effort. Thanks for sharing....btw....getting pretty cold up here in New England . I’ve had to break out the fleece clothes and gloves.

Thanks Mark, I was just looking at our weather patterns broken down by month. And I think for November and December we should still be above 50°. I think if I was up in New England I would definitely probably have something more in closed, Maybe like an velomobile?

@@themotivatedrider3840 ...I ride at any temperature with the proper clothing. But best of all.... I leave for south Florida mid December and stay there until mid April. Been raining like crazy here and in the 40’s.....but we had a fabulous summer and fall. Makes me crazy to be shut in....

Florida winter is on schedule so far.... unless they shut down schools and daycare and I get conscripted again into daycare and homeschooling grandkids. I will just be riding and playing golf and sitting at pool alone and cooking my own meals. Not going to put myself at risk.
