There's a relatively short list of dudes that truly lived up to their nicknames; Ironhead Heyward, The Fridge, The Bus, Lou The Toe, Potroast. "Fast" Wille Parker is definitely on that list. Anybody standing next to him looked like they were in slow-motion when he hit the accelerator. Unreal speed

People don’t realize how close willie was to being an all time great. Injuries derailed his career right at his prime. Through 2005-2007, he had 1200, 1400, and 1300 yards respectively. In 2007 he broke his leg and was never the same. Its a shame but I believe willie still deserves his praise! Especially helping us win superbowl 40

Madden 07 on GBA is the reason I’m a Steelers fan, they were the first team I ever won with. Pitch outside to Willie Parker was half my offense. Absolute legend

Honestly he inspired me to train sprint speed. Him and herome bettis were my favorite running back combo of all time in all of nfl history ive seen alot of fast running backs but nobodies ouright speed in football pads translated so well than fast willie parker and he was the perfect partner to the bus. I wish so bad i could train with him for a couple months just to learn from him im 33 my football days are long gone but id love to learn how to train myself to be the fastest and most explosive version of myself going into my older adult years. Fastest i ever ran i was 23 or 24 and i ran a 4.5 flat forty at 6ft tall 205 pounds. Now im 33 225 a bit fat alot slower i wish i could get back in shape and do whatever training he did i can always get whatever strength back but speed like this is hard to come by. I need tips/training. I played football at 225 usually and ran a 4.7 but only time i was super fast was when i dropped down under 205

Never forget one run against Cleveland on Monday night. The camera was in the defensive backfield looking at the offense and there was a tiny gap between the Offensive linemen. Like about 12". And then you see Willie lift both his feet up, squeeze and kind of turn sideways and he just squirted through. The coolest thing ever. I played it back a dozen times.

Reminds me of Napolean Kaufman with the quickness but i can see Willi fast quick not fast. Quick Willi Parker. Tons of the faster DBs woulda ran him down. Its rare to be a RB and have that 5th gear. CJ and Bo had it. After 40 yards Parker losses his strde and maybe training woulda changed that idk Ok now i didnt say he wasnt fast lol
@danielburgess77854 жыл бұрын
'Tough' Willie Parker.
@yoloswaggins53853 ай бұрын
He wasnt just fast he was quick he had both at such a high lvl with just enough explosive power to break tackles despite only being 212 not small by any means but definitely not big even for a running back not big at all. But best thing he had to compliment his strengths was vision he read his blocks well and hit the hole faster than anyone ive ever seen and lets be honest hes winning any footraces so defensive players either took good angles or he was gone. He wasnt the type to juke or go side to side a ton he just read the blocks well and hit with speed and power cut well too but only when needed and had power to break a tackle too came in handy to break the first early defender and get to next lvl quick at full speed where he shined. Also a good stiff arm as well dude had strong arms and the stuff arm allowed him to carry a guy for several more yards even if the tackle was made. Dude was the epitome of both speed and quickness most people dont realize the difference and that most running backs are lucky enough to be great at one let alone both but fast willie was both with fantastic vision. Him and the bus were my favorite running backs and the best combo to ever take the field as a duo he inspired me to sprint. James harrison inspired me to lift and play violent. I wasnt as talented as them but i trained to be like them when i did play or tried to i was obese as a kid and slow when i got older and found i could be fast i yearned for it. Makes me wonder what couldve been if i knew how to train like willie trained or whatever he did to become so fast

People don't understand outrunning the defense as a RB is a lot tougher than as a receiver everybody has a 10-20 yard headstart on you. There's only a handful of backs in NFL history who could do it consistently.
@monkeyspank64444 жыл бұрын
Never forget that Tennessee game , his first start, couldn’t believe what I saw from this running back. Then hearing the story about how Dan Rooney used to watch him play prior to NFL , yep the Genius of Dan Rooney who also was responsible for demanding the Roethlisberger pick, Cowher had a OT in mind, Dan Rooney shut that down 😉
