Wow , if you like fast , high powered trains , this is the video for you !! How is it that BNSF doesn't spread the power throughout the trains ?? Statistics prove that a considerable amount could be gained by doing so in both fuel savings and overall train control . Terrific video . Your new fans in the Great White North 🇨🇦

Many of our trains do have DP. It depends on train length, tonnage, and territory requirements. We try to avoid it when possible with short trains because DP trains take more time to build than conventional trains.

29:20 "CAUTION HY-RAIL VEHICLES LIFT FROG". Does BNSF have giant mutant frogs to move trucks around?
@kensingtonchapp48195 ай бұрын
It's a warning for HY-RAIL vehicles that the frog is designed to lift wheels over the rail rather than a more complex flange slot design.

@@southplainsrailfan8697 well its not the same with the faded paint and patching. But when you see them scorch the iron lashed up together it still gives me a thrill👍 scale trains has for sale faded, weathered santa fe warbonnets for sale, never thought about buying a faded patched unit until i saw scale train models, they did a SUPERB job on them i believe they already sold out

I don't know anything about the operations of trains. So I have a couple of questions. When 4 or 5 locomotives are pulling 200+ freight cars, are all of the locomotives running? Question 2: what's a **DPU**
@Scorges1 Жыл бұрын
Distributed Power Unit. Not all of the units are running some are on but idling . on Z-Trains about 3-4 usually are on at most depending on the load
@kensingtonchapp48195 ай бұрын
@@Scorges1At most we can and often do have 5 or 6 locomotives on the head end as long as they don't exceed 48 rated powered axles. 3 or 4 is common on level territories though, as there's no need for that much horsepower
