The direct competitor of this that no one is talking for is the Sigma 28-45 f/1.8. The sigma is still heavier than this 28-70 f/2. Let that sink in.

I had a bevy of GM lenses and three cameras...I sold EVERYTHING except my Sony A74. I think Ill buy this lens as it covers a wide range of scenarios. Maybe pair it with the 85 1.8 or 135GM and we good to go. Great vid as always.

it's almost perfectly parfocal and looks sharper in the corners with less chromatic aberration when compared to 24-70 f2.8 gm2. I've picked this lens over the gm2 because it's a whole stop faster. hopefully my smallrig matte box will fit it!!

Gerald used step down ring to 82mm and the ND filter didn't cause any vignetting. I think IBIS will crop in a bit too. Maybe people should try step down ring before buying expensive filters or matte box.

depends on the thicknes of the ND filter too I guess. Further away from the optical elements the more vignetting there would be

I do the same thing on DZO Pictor zooms that also have 86mm front filter size.

This was on my list, I am currently trying to switch out my lenses for all or mostly all Sony. I do have the Tamron 28-75 gen 2. It is great but I really believe we are going to get a bit better stability, autofocus, breathing comp,, etc.. with Sony. This would be for my ZV-E1. I hope your issues are limited to the FX6.

I am pretty certain it was just the FX6

Any information on this lens is made in Japan or Thailand?

this lens looks like the same size as my 24-105G. Im keen to know what that missing 24-28mm is really worth it, you showed it 5:35 but it didn't seem appaernt. I see this as a successor to the 24-70GMii. F2 is better than F2.8 but tot quite F1.8. Can you test this lens with the ZVE1 for video? I already have the 70-200GM, should I replace my 24-105G?

slightly bigger than the 24-105mm f/4. The auto focus was great with the ZV-E1

It’s like AU$5300. With this money you can basically buy a 2470 G master and 2 GMaster F1 .4 prime lenses. I feel like at this price and at this weight… May as well make it slightly heavier and have a 24 to 70. It seems annoying that it doesn’t have 24 mm. Professionals using this focal length don’t even care about the weight.
