"Chasing customers" that's the inherent problem. If you build a proper car the customers will chase you.
@Baimobile734 минут бұрын
You didn’t even watch the video, did you? That’s exactly what they were saying. They’ve been trying to build proper cars for the last couple years and it hasn’t been working for them so they’re going back to what they know best; low volume, high price cars.
@housepianist20 минут бұрын
Your comment is rather generic because car companies all build their versions of “proper” cars. There is no centralized definition of what a proper car is. The main problem is that there’s a lot of competition all vying for the same results and they all build “proper” cars. Customers have many choices and it’s a matter of what appeals to them and the price. For example, Honda can build a proper vehicle but if Toyota also builds a proper vehicle AND it’s less expensive, guess what the customer will buy. They all chase customers because that’s the market - too many players chasing too few customers.

Jaguar had to do something that's for sure. Lots of people love the brand, but not enough were actually buying the cars. The concept is a bold car with presence imo... and as we know, the actual production car will be in this style, but probably significantly different. It even occurred to me that maybe Jaguar would have a follow up campaign where this new aggressive car blows away the oddball teletubbies in a ballsy " We were just kidding" moment. I think if it was preceded by a better campaign, more people would have been open to liking this car.... it is a powerful car with presence. I'm sure that a proper leaper and growler will be offered as option, that's what I would put on the car. A 1,000 hp car deserves a growler in front! Hopefully too they offer a cool two door GT. I am certainly rooting for them. It does all make me appreciate my beautiful XK 5.0, as it's now a part of Jag history. It's funny as the lead up campaign was hardly pointing to a powerful, stunning and brutal car. When I first saw the rebranding video I thought, "Well, Bond villains won't be driving Jags anymore" ..... but a Bond villain would definitely drive this, although in blue or black not the pink.... lol. Imo, the teletubbies would never drive this car.

The problem is the high-end low-volume market is so saturated with brands, but has a small customer base. EV’s are smooth as only one speed box. That instant torque from 0 rpm can not be equaled with a gas car that needs rev’s, a gearbox to stay in the rev range, and horsepower at higher rpm. EV’s give you both horsepower and torque from the beginning. No waiting like gas cars as so many moving parts must be engaged before the car responds. Glad so many going EV route. People are tired of our noisy environment. I was a gear head early in my life, wearing hearing aids now. I will never go back to a gas car. I love car summon on my Tesla. The biggest problem with Jaguar is they never replaced the XK in 2015 an iconic GT which was never replaced!

The marketing was so brilliant. It injected this car into the veins of politics with one deliberately 'woke' ad. Lol. Humans are so darn predictable and can be triggered easily.

This new jaguar is hideous, just like the cyber truck. I hope manufacturers don't think people are going to pay 65,000 to 120,000 to drive around in vehicles that look like prototype toasters with wheels.😒
