Very nicely done. I love that you showed that this can be done by one person, and that you do not have to remove the entire front bumper to do this upgrade.

Thanks! I think taking off the wheels would have made things go a little faster but it is a time consuming project either way. I know I could do it faster if I did it again though.

Really appreciate your video. I’m a mechanic novice and your video was quite helpful. You absolutely don’t need to jack car or remove front bumper. Hardest part were the two screws inside side fender. Other than that seating the new headlights was a bit of a struggle to ensure good alignment. Would have been nice for a little more wiring between headlights so one had multiple ways to run the DLR lights wiring - seemed a bit stingy. Otherwise all good!
@FASTCarsLive2 жыл бұрын
You found the same things I did. Glad it helped. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@Teramydog3 жыл бұрын
If you take the wheel off and the fender liner off the fender and headlight nuts are not "a bear" to get to. Cut corners and you pay the price. If you take it apart it goes way better. I have done it both ways. Taking it apart (including the bumper) is just better from a risk of damage standpoint and running the wires (no need to wiggle and jiggle). AND - you can clean the bugs out of the radiator more thoroughly while the bumper is off.
@FASTCarsLive3 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely correct! I wanted to see if I could do it without having to put the car on a lift or jack stands.

@FASTCarsLive2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. I’m not sure about the 8 series lights. I’m sure the headlights are the same but maybe the DRL’s are look brighter because they’re thinner?

I really liked this video and your presentation style. I"ve been considering installing Coplus C6 Corvette OEM Style LED Headlights on my 2005 Corvette. They have been on the market for a relatively short time and may not be widely known. There are several reasons I'm drawn to them, starting with the OEM design similarity. then LED low beam, and the LED strip at the bottom of the unit. I haven't been able to find an installation video and was wondering if you would consider a request to create a video of this install your self? No body else has......
@FASTCarsLive Жыл бұрын
Thanks for reaching out, and thanks for watching! Unfortunately I no longer have a C6 Corvette so I’d be unable to make a video. However, I’d imagine the steps would be fairly similar. The other thing I would suggest would be to reach out to the manufacturer, maybe they have an install video.

Excellent video and extremely educational. Regarding the orange wire for the sequential turn signals that you disconnected and covered with tape, could you also cut off the connector and not worry about taping?
@FASTCarsLive Жыл бұрын
You could cut off the connector but I would recommend using some shrink sleeve (with the adhesive inside) and sealing the wires up to avoid moisture and shorting them out. Thanks for watching!

Informative video; what did you need to do to get the new lights to fir properly in the fender?
@FASTCarsLive26 күн бұрын
You may need to shim the studs (I explain this around 11:45 min into the video). You may have to add or remove shims to get everything to line up correctly.

Thanks for the video! I know its been a while since you posted it but do you remember if you had to adjust the headlight beams or were they pretty spot on out of the box?

should i be keeping the battery disconnected while swap the headlights? im super new to this and when i was reconnecting the battery after putting in the positive charge, the negative sparks on contact but maybe thats normal

It’s not a bad idea to disconnect the battery during installation but I did not disconnect mine. The spark when you connect the negative terminal is not uncommon.

My driver's side turn signal has gone out, completely. Do you know which connector I need to check to verify that?
@FASTCarsLive3 жыл бұрын
I think that’s part of the main harness. The small harness is just to determine if you want sequential or not. I’d recommend contacting Vette Lights. They can probably help.

How do you get those three bolts off that are on the headlight to swap them to the new one? Im so stuck on this in the middle of my install
@hardninetymedia2 жыл бұрын
I used a small wrench or 1/4 inch socket but I can't remember which size. You can also use a pliers or vice-grip on the very tip where there's no threads. Just be careful not to deform the threads.

I recommend switching to the factory studs paying attention to if they had shims/spacers in them and putting them back in the same position as they came off the original lights. If there are none then you’re probably ok using the studs in the new lights. Thanks for watching!
