Beautiful bike and those side casings looked easy to remove, another reason why l don't fancy those fixed leather side casing bags. Eddie looks like an excellent early alarm system for those two legged Rats . Beautiful dog.

I have checked a few other similar channels I’m subscribed to and don’t seem to have the same problem. I’ll have to check you every couple of weeks I think. Good luck with the channel keep the Enfield content coming Nigel

I always find it very therapeutic working on my bike and try and do so whenever my skills allow. I like your organised and methodical approach, especially around the positioning of the tank pads. From personal experience the headlight protector looks great but can be a nuisance when it comes to keeping the lens itself clean, particularly when there are a lot of bugs about. I was forever taking it on and off and eventually discarded it.

Are the tank protectors in the right place for your knees? I test rode an interceptor a couple of years ago and my knees caught the top of the pads and made it really uncomfortable to grip the tank. Is it possible to remove them without taking paint off the tank? Another intersting video. keep them coming please.
@thebingleywheeler Жыл бұрын
Hi Arthur hard to say really re causing discomfort…..I’m sure Hitchcocks wouldn’t sell anything that couldn’t be removed without causing damage

I would have put the tank protector bottom parallel with the bottom of the tank. Then again that's me... Good review, tnx

Very interested to see this. You are using the same spotlight brackets I have used along with the same Givi crash bars. Very interested to see your method for fitting these tank pads. I have been considering the Tripmachine leather tank guards on my Super Meteor.

Bike looks and sounds great Dave. I could tell by your breath is was a bit cold. That time of year again. I'm hoping that shorter screen will still allow you and the camera to stay some what dry? I thought the original one was fine. It didn't bother me if it got wet. That's part of the experience of riding in the rain in the UK. Ride safe and keep the rubber side down. Cheers

Thank you Rick I’ll see how it goes with filming etc…the short screen was just a cheap purchase so I can always swap back

With early Interceptors, Euro 4, you had to let the bike tick over for around ten minutes after installing a DNA filter to let the ECU learn.

Good video Dave, very therapeutic for a miserably grey and cold Sunday morning. Too late now but just a thought. I can see you breath in some of the shots so, if you nick the wife's hairdryer ( *do not get caught!* ) and _gently_ warm the adhesive prior to fixing, I find it tend to adhere better.

Cheers pal I’ll remember that…I certainly don’t have any other use for a hairdryer 😂

Good morning Dave, love the tank protectors, not sure about the headlamp guard though, sorry. One solution for the accessory lights might be to fit a distribution module, I have a healtech Thunderbox which connects to the battery, it comes live a few seconds after the engine starts and disconnects after the engine is stopped. It has current protection and can connect up to four or five devices (not sure) and works a treat, used it on the last two bikes for lights, USB, satnav etc. looking forward to the DNA review. Andy.

Hey! Lovely video and thank you for the info! I have a question in case anyone could help me...I'll soon have the bike delivered and I was wondering if its okay to install the air filter as soon as I get the bike. Does it hurt the breaking in of the engine, does it help or it doesnt rly matter? Thx in advance!

Lucid commentary, Dave - and certainly the new screen has changed the appearance of the bike. As to its functionality, the proof of the pudding, etc. I'm sure that the DNA filter will improve the mid-range throttle response, albeit with commensurate induction roar. Only time will tell if that's at an acceptable level for you.

Good morning Dave. The trouble with screens is that with some, unless your head is in the "sweet spot" there can be a lot of buffeting. I found this to be the case when I test rode the SM myself. I'd much prefer a smaller screen with clean airflow. I can't quite tell from the pic of the splitter, but are the two plugs at the "Y" end of the splitter the same type as the incoming socket (but opposite gender) or are they a different type? If same you could separate the headlamp feed by plugging the adaptor into the headlamp supply then replug that into one side of the "Y". Then common-up both spotlight feeds and plug into the other one?
@thebingleywheeler Жыл бұрын
Morning Philip and thank you for that I’m going to take another look see if o can work it out. Yes screens can be anything but! 😂

Couple disappointments. 1. I was hoping to do the spot lights on crash bars like yourself. Can't believe they didn't realise none loose connection available? 2. Sorry but my criticism on knee pads looks WRONG! Surely the pads should be parallel to the tank bottom?
@thebingleywheeler Жыл бұрын
I tried parallel with the bottom of the tank but it looked awful

Like the filter update, and the small fly screen looks better. Though I'm not a fan of fly screens. As for the tank protectors; what do they protect against? And why the union flag design? Sorry about the criticism - it's meant to be constructive. The tank just looks too 'busy' now. I have the DNA filter on my Interceptor - a definite improvement.
