Thanks for the update. Note that to get these speeds you have to be using a UHS-II SD or microSD card as well. These will have UHS-II markings on them, and will have two rows of connectors on the back so they are easier to recognize. They also cost more (obviously).

anything that advertises UP to 312MB/s is lying. There is overhead even when copying, so my rule of thumb is to take 90% of the max stated read speed, and that becomes your new maximum with overhead factored in, so the max read speed of that one is probably more like 280 MB/s which is still quite fast. It's just that 312 MB/s is the theoretical (paper) max of UHS-II card (reading or writing) and it's extremely unlikely that there would be almost no overhead, so 242MB/s is roughly expected. However, one other thing to consider is heat. Some card readers run hot, especially CFExpress card readers that run fast, and this can (over a long time) wear out the card due to heat (which is the silent killer of electronics).

Thanks for the info on the devices. Your overlay should 240 MB/s not 240 Mb/s. Sorry about the nitpicking. I got call out on this as an engineer ten years ago. 240 MB/s is about 10 times faster than 240 Mb/s. 1 MB is 1024 bytes. 1 Mb is 1024 bits. In old serial devices 1 byte is 8 bits of data plus 1 start and 1 stop bit.

Hi Marcus, You sir are as we say in Australia, a "Bloody Legend"! An A1 all-around brilliant photographer. I did it professionally for about 35 years after leaving the Royal Australian Navy in 1986 as a Leading Seamen Underwater weapons- Demolitions/ Torpedoes Technician and Senoir Ships Defence Divers Team. I worked with your boys as a rescue swimmer during flight operations from the USS RANGER and the USS John F Kennedy Aircraft Carrier Battle Groups in the Arabian Gulf 1982. Ever since I was a kid with my mum or dads old box Brownie I'd be the family's and all events little "basher" as in taking lots of photos as we say Bashing off a bunch of shots! During my final contracted year in the Navy I had to convert over to another branch as they Electronic Weapons guys were talking over all matainence duties of the Torpedoes and surface to subsurface Missile system which we always had done together. The direct Demolitions aspect would be taken over by a temporary CLEARANCE DIVERS = US NAVY SEAL.Only if the ship was going on a deployment or special ops mission were they placed onboard our Guided Missile Destroyer HMAS Perth DDG38, Hobart DDG39 and the Brisbane DDG41. These were a modified version of your Charles F Adams class Destroyer. All of our ships were made in Seattle WA. They all served in the Vietnam war. Most Americans are completely ignorant of the fact that Australians have been the only country in the entire world to have "had your 6" as in served right beside you through every war since the First world war, WWII, KOREAN, VIETNAM, GULF 1 & GULF 2 and mist recently the Afghanistan war. Our Prime Minister John Howard was in Washington on the day of the World Trade attacks. As soon as it was proven to be a terrorist event, the very same day, he committed to ALL AMERICANS we would be with you till the end. Which we did also with the Afghanistan war. We were the very last to leave shortly before you got out off. Dodge! About 10 years ago I had a full mental and physical breakdown. To cut a long story short I have had quite a few of my mates ended up taking their own lives due to their never-ending hell of PTSD. In the beginning of January 2021 I decided that I had to be proactive for my own survivability and for the thousands of Veterans going through the same crap day after day. To date I have spent every single cent of my retirement superannuation funds and whatever savings I had as well. All up well over $133000 Australian dollars. We did become a registered not for profit Charity Incorporation last year. I have to sell replica warships that our older boys served on as our only source of income. Thank God for the many companies Australian, USA, Danish, Portuguese, German, New Zealand, the Netherlands. My mother is Dutch. Every day is very stressful trying to write numerous letters requesting hardware and items for all three vessels we have ended up with. One a small 12 ft tender/ fishing boat, a donated, still fixing up, US made Glastron MX175 135hp inboard Mercruiser for wakeboard ing. We will not be Wakeboarding as you can well imagine as all of us all have other serious physical disabilities due to our service related injuries. I had numerous back operations for multiple concussions and Spinal trauma sustained during operational deployments. Anyway mate apart from the great lead you gave me on the micro sd card reader I would like to as you any advice on how we could improve our online presence. The other thing I would like to do is to see if we could team up with and of your boys' Veterans groups to get them over for a few days cruising when we finally complete restoring the yacht. All services, including your amazing Coast Guard! If your not interested that's perfectly fine as well. It wasn't my aim at the beginning of this letter, but I'm always thinking of any way to share our "leading by example " for inspiration and courage to challenge one's self! I hope we can become friends and if ever you want to come over ( when the yacht is completed and on the water) you will have a bed, mate! All the best with everything, Marcus. Thanks Marcus for the recommendation. I’ll have to pick one up. I have that square anker one that was in the last video and It does well. But things could always be a little faster to help. I think a big thing with these companies as well is that they put those advertised speeds, but the reality is, that’s in the optimal, most best setting possible. But in the real world, most people don’t have the most up-to-date USB on their computers so there’s going to be bottlenecking regardless. It’s kind of like Internet company speed advertisement were the results will vary always. But my rule of thumb is go the highest you can go with advertised speeds because you’re still going to get better results even if there is bottleneck issues.

I just also wanted to add that if you are copying onto a mechanical hard drive, you will likely not see these speeds as most HDDs cap out at around 125MB/s. Some might go above that, but most won't. Especially for portable HDDs. In other words, you need to make sure all of your storage devices are capable of handling that UHS-II speed, otherwise you will have a storge bottleneck and won't see those fast speeds. And if you're downloading the sd card to a NAS, unless you have at least a 2.5gig connection, you're not gonna see over 1 gig speed. 1 gig speed is about the same as a mechanical hard drive's performance. So just be aware of your storage and network bottlenecks if you do experience slow transfer speeds.

Yo. If you can fix your thumbnail and text to say 200MB/s instead of 200 Mb/s that'd be dope. That was really throwing me off and depending the b, in MB, being capitalized or not makes a major difference. 200MB/s is 200 Megabytes per second, which is wicked fast, while 200Mb/s is 200 Megabits per seconds. 1 byte= 8 bits, making 200Mb/s = 25MB/s. Sorry to randomly mention something small like this, but these capitalization usually gets important to me when using cameras and comparing bit rates. Like the C70 and the Blackmagic 6k. The Canon C70 and all of its advertising measures bitrate in Mb/s, while in the BMPCC6k does all their measurements in MB/s. So like the Canon C70 says it records up 550Mb/s and the BMPCC6K says it can record up 323 MB/s in Constant Bitrate. People in my university, who do happen to know about bitrate, assume the C70 raw uses more storage. Pero 550 Mb/s is actually 68.75 MB/s. Or even when looking at internet plans, they usually do their download and upload speeds using bits instead of bytes. So people might assume Oh my god!, if I have the 1Gb/s plan I must be able to download 1 Gigabyte every second. And I'm like nah, that means your download speeds are 125MB/s, which is still pretty fast. Thank you.

I have multiple SD Cards on my desk with the Micro SD slot, so not having a Micro SD reader isn't a biggie to me. I could see having both so that if you want to import both at the same time being a positive though. I ended up getting a small USB 3.2 hub that has both types of card readers. It's only 104 MB/s for SD though. But I'm only transferring audio files anyway so it's not that big of a deal. I couldn't find a hub with UHS-II. I would have gotten it if I found it though.

The only issues I found with the JJC are - the SD slot only provides Read ability, not write/modif in my case, whereas the µSD does ; so since I almost only use µSDs I don't really care but for my V60 SD it's limitating, & for anyone using SD cards, that's to be known ; might not matter at all depending on the usage - this device doesn't wok at all as an USB OTG device for Android, neither from the USB C port, nor from the USB A + adapter ; on none of both SD ports ; that's the biggest bummer for me, as I believed it'd be the best all in 1 for both my PC & smartphone devices.. - Caps don't hold in place very well & dismantle themselves (in 2 pieces), but nothing major here Otherwise, great. Now I wonder whether the other ones would fit better my situation, by adding a µSD-SD adapter in the equation. Thx for the work !
