The new SONY Z200 and NX800 are a beast! Unfortunately, very expensive. They have the greatest zoom I have seen. Very clear image at 20X. Great for churches.

This video was too funny, so spot on and true. Nothing but a bunch of kids trying to be hip, with hip hop, slang, house music, and all high spots… I really like your channel, the way you have your own presentation, and recommendations of more affordable under the radar gear. Thank you Markus for the videos and laughs hahahaha

@MarkusPix10 сағат бұрын
It's exactly as bright as my 4 ft shop light, a Godox LC500 tube light at full brightness, a Zhiyun X100 with a white umbrella, and it's a bit brighter than a Zhiyun Fiveray M40 if that helps.

Panasonic recently released two new camcorders: the HC-V900K and HC-VX3K. Are you planning to check them out?
@MarkusPix19 сағат бұрын
The VX3 is just a VX1 (which I hate) with software that tries to enhance low light (badly)

@@MarkusPix I am sorry to hear that. I recall you mentioned that the Panasonic VX981 is your preferred camcorder. I have been considering purchasing a camera for video recording, and I was hoping the HC-VX3K would be an upgrade from the VX981.

It's incredible how the progress of technology allows you to enjoy your passions more and more; had LEDs not be designed, this would be impossible. Hence we need scientific progress to move us forward, this is crazy good! And of course you've got a great model! Enjoy your Christmas Holidays and best wishes to you!

@MarkusPix thank you! That is helpful information. I quite like M40 for its compactness but this seems to be a better solution. Is the NP550 x2 battery sufficient for 1hr full brightness?

Love this video! Great explanation! I've been trying to tell people for a long time hot lights were better than LEDs but didn't have this information to prove it. And it makes sense why a lot of production people use LEDs as they don't typically have the budget (time or funds) to rig fresnel and hmi lights. So it's good to know they're are some good LED lights out there or that they can be corrected. Also just subed

And I have an alien bees setup. 2x 800ws and 1 1600ws. I often used it for nighttime wildlife photography. I would shoot into the alienbees plm silver, which turns it into a 8ft diameter parallel beam. And then would get pictures of cranes hunting in swamp land. I would trigger them from about 30 feet away, so we were both shooting the target, and I was not shooting through all of the illuminated particles along the way. The plm allowed me to get about the same focus as a 300mm lens. It was powered by a car battery and an inverter.

I'm disappointed to see that easy-to-use consumer-level camcorders are being overlooked by the various other camera types - most of which are either more expensive cameras, or are in other segments entirely like action cams. Anything that could be in a $300-500 price range is basically fulfilled by ancient Full HD camcorders that are several years old and little more than $200, or you have to bump up to the 4k camera category at $800 and more. These brands will sit on a model for several years before introducing a replacement to fill that slot. We're losing something if we have to fill that slot with an action cam or smartphone. I'd like to see something like a nextgen Panasonic VX3K or Sony CX405, but new, can do 4K60, and has a modern SD card slot, microphone jack, horse shoe mount, and USB-C connection.

In those early comparison shots, I preferred the look of some of the umbrellas over the softbox. I was actually expecting the opposite (thinking that softboxes would be somehow superior.)

Looks like the Ulanzi LM07. It's only 10 w so it can't be very bright. The Smallrig RC 30B is three times brighter kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqHIl3yFlN5koac You should watch the whole video if you haven't seen it yet, it talks about all kinds of focusable lights
@CarlosBenjaminКүн бұрын
The trouble with most of these is not the modifier, but with the flash. It’s the fresnel. It just puts a hard spot on the front of the “diffuser”. The Godox that pushes the bare bulb into the interior of the modifier is what needs to be used. Otherwise you’re just lighting with the hot spot on the modifier.

@MarkusPix Aputure hase a 120D II and a studio variant that is better for photography than for filming, doesn't it? I can't find the differences or models anymore. I bought a 700W SL - that is, a studio light lamp - and I don't see any disadvantage even though it is a studio light lamp. What are the disadvantages?

I really love this site and watching you two interact... your way of approaching gear and the fun you both have tickles me. It's a smile, a laugh, a learning experience, and a awesome day when you have a video to watch! I see you do a lot of light videos could you please do a "how to video/photograph in the dark" or in the moon light or something not using lights. I have a camera now but the flash does not work and I'm trying to figure how to get good shots of a girl in the dark or with very little light. Also would it be good to own a light meter I see you use yours in some videos and said it was one of the best you've tried out. What brand is it and is a light meter good to use when you have little to no light? HaPpY Holidays to you both!!
