hey Andy, ive recently got a jumper t16, but it wont bind to my xm+. Mind you this is my first time owning a quad, so forgive my stupid questions, but: do you know if the pin outs are the same on the t16 as on a taranis? Since when i plug my xm+ to it, the t16 sais |module not responding" upon attempting to flash the receiver.

I am not very knowledgeable about tuning but the factory Tune was no good and the other ones I tried made my Motors too hot also sounded sick in the air. Hi Andy. I received my GT-R369 a couple of days ago and it came with the bad PID tuning installed. At least the Foxeer OSD was left off. I ordered this Quad on July 11th. Andy, I got my GT369 today with a 550mah 6s battery. Right out of the box it sounded like a Jetsons car with really bad flutters. It did not fly well. I just tried your PID settings and holy crap! It flies so so so so good now. Thank you so much for all you do in the hobby and sharing your tuning. This quad feels amazing now

This Quad is really great! I was a little timid to fly 6s on a 3", but wow!, it works well. I put Andy's "dump" in for the PID's and it flies wonderfully. Love this Quad. Believe me it is well worth the investment. Andy, thank you for the detailed reviews you give. I learn something new with every video, especially when you discuss things like the relationship between KV and batteries, etc.

Mine came without the camera controller, not needed as I have a few laying around . The camera OSD was turned off as received. Standard PID’s ... they seem to be more likely for a 4s setup. Really neat build . I installed my RXSR receiver in the left aft standoff and it fit perfectly. Only problem I have so far is - I plugged a 4s , programmed my settings and all went well. As soon as I plugged in a 6s for the maiden the magic smoke came out . Seems to be the capacitor couldn’t handle it. On my way home to disassemble and inspect for further damage...

I decided to fly it without changing PIDs to see if it was as bad as people said and if maybe the production PIDs were different but it's definitely going to need changing. I have made changes tonight and will see how it goes next weekend.

The XT30 connector copper parts may be getting damaged from arcing when pairing each time a 6S new pack is made up. Perhaps that’s why Diatone went with XT60s. I’ve shortened the leads on the 550 GNBs and noticed carbon deposits about the connectors. The XT60 has more surface area to spread it out and sacrifice. My 6S monster trucks use a special XT90 connector with an internal circuit designed to absorb the inrush and dissipate it. When making the XT30s, do so as fast as you can to minimize the effects.

Forgot, running mamba f7 3.5.5 My quad bounces a little on fast 1200 rates when flipping. I was thinking maybe too high p on roll and pick. Would using this tune work well on a 5"?

Looking into the motors themselves I found the mamba mb1408 4000kv are only rated for a 3-4s. How can they make a 2800kv 3-6s?

I found out why my capacitor blew up- it was soldered to the 4in1 esc with the polarity REVERSED ! I never checked that as it was factory build and the build looks really well done. Lesson learned- check everything no matter what !

i used xt60 on my 3inch i built just because i dont wanna deal with the risk changing connectors on batteries that came with xt60s...i wanted xt30 but it limited me to just a couple batteries. first battery i ever changes connectors on the wire just barely flicked against the other polarity and it fused together and just stuck and blew up, now i disconnect and solder one wire at a time so its impossible to happen, but still replacing every connector would suck, then everything else has xt60 connectors then i cant use em for my other devices, so i just go with all xt60.

what lipos are you using? because its a struggle to find lipos with xt60s that are good for a 3 inch. Im guessing you are talking about 4s? at the making of this video the only suitable 6s lipo you can buy for a three inch is the gnb 550mah and that has and xt30. xt60 is a good idea for a 3 inch as it draws more current. But still most 3 inch 4s lipos come with xt30s with the excepton of the 850mah gnb

But still with so much of everything else using the xt60s, unless i was racing/ I was really wanting to build a light quad and was shaving every gram I could- then I'd change every connector I had to to xt30s or even Ts or whatever I could find that was lightest and still provided proper current, because purpose built is purpose built you do it right or don't bother regardless of the inconvenience... But yeah I'm running 1507 motors on my 3 inch and 4s 850s for now, and only a couple batteries that size have xt30s and I'm not gonna buy them and only them just to use xt30s. Cnhl 100c200 burst ratedand ovonic100c 4s850 use xt60s and their some of the best 4s850mah for the price of 16-18usd. If I really wanted lighter connectors I'd probably still buy them and change em but just not necessary for me.

Did you have a proper 8 pin ESC to 10 pin FC cable? Mine was an 8/8 and now that I’ve unplugged from the FC am not positive where to plug back in. When looking at the front I am thinking the right 8 pins are for the ESC and the left two are for a buzzer. The mamba pin diagram shows 8 pins on the FC but the diatone store acknowledges the mini stack has 10 pins on the FC. Very confusing.

I've tried these PIDS on my rooster build. Powerful build, t motor f80 pro 1900kv, t motor f55 esc. These PIDS work incredible on my 5". Stock PIDS where just too much for my powerful 6s quad. Lots of bounce back and some oscillations. Very much appreciated for the what should be a stock PID for 6s quads. I'm not sure being so much lower than stock why the work so much better. The only thing I can think of is stock PID on 3.5.5 is a little too aggressive for powerful quads? Fantastic tune 👌

Does this model fly on BetaFlight 4 yet, or does it still require v3.5.5? I am an absolute beginner in this hobby, and am trying to learn everything I need to get this drone in the air. I used BetaFlight to back up my config. It saved as a text file. So what I don't understand is how to get v3.5.5 back into the drone, plus all the configs. Are the configs and the version of BetaFlight two separate things? Sometimes I get three motors spinning, sometimes four. Also, I do not currently have a VTX antenna on the drone because i don't own goggles yet. Is this causing me problems? I can't figure out how to get BetaFlight 3.5.5 again.... no matter which version of the configurator I install, the only firmware choices it gives me are version 4's (no version 3 choices on the drop-down menu). I'm really confused now about BetaFlight and it's configurator versions versus the BetaFlight (firmware?) versions, versus how to make proper COMPLETE backups and how to do full restores. I think i want the drone to have the original factory firmware and config (settings?) back in it. When I did "diff all" before backing up, I noticed that the BetaFlight version was 3.5.5 and that the target (board) was called "MAMBAF722 (MAMBAF7)." The newer BetaFlight gives me slightly differently named choices: MAMBAF722 (DIAT) or MAMBAF722 (Legacy). What do I do now?

I may have figured it out! I found a third video you did on the Limited Edition version of this model, and on it you say to use BetaFlight 3.5.7 and your configs. I found the text file you posted of your CLI, and then found another site that showed how to copy and paste it into the CLI in BetaFlight. I had seen the v3.5.7 somewhere when i was looking for 3.5.5 (because that's what you used in this video). I shall report back!

Nope. No go. So, if i have a battery connected (using the GNB 6S-550mah), and the quad plugged into the computer via USB, not even connected to BetaFlight, just connected to Windows... if I Arm it, all 4 props spin. But, if I simply unplug the USB and Arm it, only 3 of the props spin.

UAV tech posted some cli presets that allow you to use BF 4.0 with all the PID/filter settings of stock 3.5. But you still get to use the new features like launch control etc.

yup and it sends this model to the moon. I spoke to him and He doesn't have this model I hope he gets hold of one but all the betaflight specific channels dont seem to be interested in anything below 5 inch. perhaps is because its out of their zone? this model is like no other when it comes to power to weight and i truly think it sits outside of what betaflight 4 is capable of when reacting to such acceleration. I know josh has one so lets see if he can figure out the missing piece of the puzzle. Everyone keeps telling me its filters. the problem with filters is you can build two identical quads and need different filter settings where my pids for this model dont touch the filters and so far everyone is enjoying them without and fires.

How would you compare the performance and top speed of the R369 on 4S vs the R349 on 4S? The R369 has 1408 2800KV motors and the R349 has 1408 4000KV motors. The R369 weighs 155g and the R349 weighs 140g.

They are 4s and 6s for a reason so a 6s model on a 4s won't have anywhere near as much power.

Hmmm. I have a beautifully flying 4s geprc sparrow 3" but it only has the emax 1408 motors w tstyle props/avan mini props. Definitely less power than that rocket. However it flies great. I had to crank the d only tpa up to .90-99 and cutoff at 1250-1350. Also cut the P gains by about 50% and turned ds down about 10 pts. I also turned off boost like you did. I'm only using the dynamic notch and changed my dynamic d term filter to 60/180 like UAV tech does on his channel.

Does this set up need and xt60? Absolutely. When you were running the gnb battery at full throttle punches you were breaking 50 amps on a xt30 do that enough times and you will melt that connector

Just a warning guys, Hope this helps someone: Last night I used a dongle to change some settings on the Foxeer Predator and in the process unplugged the 4-in-one ESC to FC harness. There are more pins on the FC then the male side of the wire harness (jumper). So before plugging in I consulted the wire diagram the ships with the RTF 369 and if you look at it you will see that the GND and VCC are clearly on the right hand side, so I plugged the harness in accordingly. After double checking, I plugged in the battery and got smoke (specifically the F7 IC itself) The wiring diagram that ships with quad: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/00...Stack.jpg?1479 After some online research I discovered that the silk screened PCB cover that ships when you purchase the Mamba F7 stack combo: ( pyrodrone.com/products/diato...4dc641e4&_ss=r ) clearly shows the receptacle has two buzzer pads outside the GND and VCC . This is not shown on the diagram that ships with the RTF unit. Make sure if you unplug this that you re-connect with the plug all the way the the LEFT HAND side (relative the front of quad). Any chance you did the calibration for the Voltage? I know you said updating to Betaflight 4.0 is not a good idea but how do you feel about 4.1 with the RPM filtering would it be worth it? @@AndyRCchannel yeah they should pay you, i have the 349 hd and it went to the moon after updating to 4.0.3 before it's maiden , i've asked them multiple times to link or give me an ok tune at least , but they just take your money and leave it up to you to blow the motors , it's only had a 30 second flight as i got it down quickly , but the caddx camera board did die on me grrrr , i rely on stock pids , as i just want to plug in and fly without to much messing around , but these Diatones are a pain and take more time to fly them than building your own

Hello Andy, I finally got this quad a few days ago. It blew up and smoked the motors. I got a second one. Have everything cleanly connected. I'm nervous to test it right now for maden flight. we arnt its just a 3 inch like this cant be tuned on 4..x.x a tiny hawk doesnt do 0-124mph in a second. something about a powerful three inch that makes it do weird stuff. check out the asteroid 3 video I did and see how it flies on 4

@@AndyRCchannel Until my custom 6s batteries are ready I'm using a rigged up twin pack(Infinity 850mah) set-up wired in series. With the twin pack set-up it's a quite heavy 350g AUW.

Hey Andy, I just got an HGLRC arrow 3 the 4s model. I test flew it on 3s 650mah an the got hotter then I would have expected. On a short flight. I've got 4 -850mah 4s tattus. Do you have any pid suggestions?

try the pids shown in this video for the 550mah and should work good so long as you arnt on betaflight 4.

Dear Andy, Great video as always, Great Model too, I think now you got new favourite 3" , I think you liked this one much better than GepRC cygnet 3 ?! I got the cygnet 3 too, but the pro version and I couldn't be happier , but now I ordered this one too, no need to say that I do all my shopping through your links, thats the least we all should do, I am just wondering if Diatone wanted to go all premium with this model, then why they didn't makes it HD too ?! Im just worry the HD version comes up in couple of weeks and then you are going to get couple of them too for review , but Not every one can buy every drone comes out, so what do you think?! did I made a mistake to order this one and not waited few weeks ?! thanks

You can also take the kv of the 6s motor and multiply by 1.5 to get the 4s kv. 2800x1.5=4200

Yo Andy 250g is the magic weight because a thermobaric weapon which is the smallest grenade that has the ideal blast area of 3 meters radius. Is the smallest explosive that can do significant damage on any given target. You can imagine the ramifications of this. Cheers

Awesome thorough review Andy. Much appreciated. I 've received my 369 today and was experiencing huge vibration when punching 6s lipo ( Same as tested by you GNB 550mah ). On 4s though all was smooth. Do you reckon this could be related to the PID setting or there is some other issue? I have just changed the PID to your liking and tomorrow will try them again. I have tested it on props that came in the box 3028r and hqProp 3x4x3v1s. The latter is my favourite for Diatone r349... Again amazing work with the review and thank you!

haha like that one about the suns. maybe stus meter is more accurate than mine but we have had pretty consistent results apart from the 349. They can lose their calibration but iv flown models from a year or so ago and get the same results.

Are the prop nuts alloy or steel ? Ever since I saw this pop up on bg I want for but need to get the weight down. Shame that led board isn't more of a saving . Also maybe there will be lighter 500 or even 450 6s out soon ?

good point they look like steel and they are also not low profile. I find low profiles to come loose a lot more though

Andy. I learnt the hard way about Betaflight 4 and 3" Quads. My Emax Babyhawk R3 went to the moon and I never found it again FFS. 😢🤮 I replaced it with the 4s version of this, the R 349 and kept it on Betaflight 3.5. Flies so good. Hits about 100 mph. Best 3" I ever owned. Dinatone did good.😍✝

No need to multiply and divide by the voltages, though. You can just multiply/divide the KV with the number of cells: 2800 * 6 = 16800 16800 / 4 = 4200 Or even easier: 6s is 1.5 times as many cells as a 4s. So muliply the motor KV by 1.5: 2800 * 1.5 = 4200

I agree however when I put those numbers on the screen they are not as relatable when I watch it back so I prefer to work with numbers I see more regular in the osd and figured others would also. There are many ways to come to the number. Cheers

@@jeff4992 good one ;-))) actually i have the 349 hd too , but want to wait for better 6s batteries to become available , and by the way I am still new and even 4S is still too much for me, so... but I just fall in love with this one, I believe pid tuning should be somehow different if I want to fly it with 4S, but ,,, as I said I am new and still learning, its a great hobby

@@sinablookat9260 no need to wait for better batteries. The gaoneng gnb 550 6s ones are pretty good 😉 Since the quad would have much less power, you'll definitely need a different pid tune. Another way to tame the power would be to limit your throttle in your transmitter via dualrates

@@jeff4992 thanks for the reply, yeah, you are right about GNB 550mah 6S, I will order few packs and defiantly would tame my throttle, it would give me even more flight time,, But I'm literally just came back home from flying it with 6 packs of 4S 850mah R-Line and I used Andy's tune profile 1 as its for 550 6S which is same weight as 850 4S R-Lines and ,,, it was nearly great, ust a little prop wash, but it did fly better than most of my quads including 5 inches ones ,, its alread crazy fast but so control able at tight bends and hitting gaps, I recently got the Cygnet 3 pro GapRC after Andy fell in love with non-pro version , I was flying with it for about a month and thought its a great 3" quad and flying great, but today,,, after flying with R369, I couldn't "waste" any of my packs on The Cygnet 3 pro !!! I just couldn't believe how great the R369 is flying and how great is the picture, its a great camera, I even forgot to unlock vtx and been flying on 25mw all the time and didn't realised it until I back home, I believe its a good TBS antenna and its mounting the way it should, overall its the second best flying quad I ever had, still nothing could beat my Armattan Rooster, but this one is soooo great , I'm so happy, and still my R349 HD version is on the way, I think I'm set for the holiday coming up , I'm gone have Goood Time ;-)) but I should learn about PID tuning , so I can tune my quads myself ,
