So for those who have Ps4s the game doesn't play online, you need to be signed off to play having not known that it reset my match history, similar to No Mercys game breaking glitch.....they legitimately created a No Mercy Clone down to its biggest fault.....unplayablity
The small things it does right is abysmally shallow
Tacks, belts, roster, arenas, thats it
They were forced into a game of chicken with a company that had 30 years of gaming history behind it in WWE
And instead of working on a project privately they announced it prematurely and sold it on pre orders of BEING SOMETHING DIFFERENT
However they made a base game engine and didn't refine it, test it, or make it universally fun, tables suck, the fact weapons go away after 2 hits is ridiculously ineffective when it's so RANDOM what you get
Counters barely work if they do, and signatures and finishers are ridiculously over powered to the point Kenny Is the Equivalent of Shao Kahn cause he does 2 moves and gets a signature and spams it, he's NOT A FICTIONAL END BOSS he's a regular person
The Counters are So Random and hit and miss without prompts there's no way to learn how to time shit this isn't 2000 ADD A PROMPT
Then we get to the pinfall kickout system that worked for RUGGED CONTROLLERS OF THE PAST
Since controller now aren't made to stand up to a slight breeze slamming buttons on it is stupid as fuck when so many other systems could have been implemented
The Game does a few things right but they wanted a bare bones game that was ineffective that they could patch for years.....had they NOT PUT PRE ORDERS OUT we wouldn't have known about this project but loose lips sink ships and this game is already out of my system, in its case and put away probably to only be played for a deathmatch or 2 and walk away because they even limited that by creating a bad barbed wire ring design, which is lifted completely from Fire Pro and not how their match looks
Thats fucking sad
And you can't tell me AEW didn't buy reviews by gladhanding and sending out copies because the people paying for the game don't like it at the price
Kenny got a Email from the guy who directed No Mercy and Revenge and didn't pay any attention to the fact they hadn't made a wrestling game In 20 years and went YES MORE OF THAT
For a company so cutting edge its such a step back not even graphically which it looks great arenas look amazing details with the ring is great
The Game has 0 replay ability and that's the worst part the story mode takes the worst part of RPGs and gives you 2 minute matches
WWE 2k23 released with a roster of people I haven't the slightest clue whom they are Santos Escobar?, alba Fyre? The community creations makes it repayable and you can download all 60 characters from the game using less than the 1000 images on WWE 2k and still add more to it
They rushed this and it's fucking sick they got peoples money and didn't want to make a playable game
It's the bones of a good game that's it, but Kenny wanted to be a boss Character in a game and not create a fun or balanced game
it's not designed for This generations controllers and it not designed for this generation of consoles the Button mashing doesn't work unless your certain characters go figure
and overall this won't be in people's consoles in 20 years like No Mercy this will be a footnote in terrible gaming
A Movie equivalent
I'd rather a Game like TNA which goes balls to the walls in insanity with a different control scheme like Texas Chainsaw The next-generation

@@TheGamerFriends you must be on crack !! Aew matches finish like in 2-3 minutes. A busted spirit meter that fills up like nothing leads up to spamming signatures. After that all you need it one finisher & then no kick outs because they have an outdated mashing system.. that’s not even mentioning how stupid skills are in this game that can be abused. Aew is broken & it’s a demo. Remain having fun in those 7 matches & mini games 😅😅😅

Like I tried I don't watch wwe I don't like wwe I actually quite enjoy AEW as a TV show The idea they shipped this half hearted attempted nostalgia bate with a 2 year window of pre order set them up to fail They needed to take 2.5 more years to refine the system they have which is THE BASE OF A GOOD GAME THE ONLY WEAPONS THEY PAUD ATTENTION TO IS TACKS AND THE LADDER 2 hits with a weapon is SHIT when you literally got unlimited in no mercy and 4 in day of Reckoning and with the amount of randomness to the weapons it makes the 2 hit rule stupid as fuck They also didn't ship it with a manual which is a 50c piece of paper with hints and tricks The dlc code was on the fucking receipt not a insert This game IS FUNDAMENTALLY BROKEN and they KNEW IT

There’s some cool match details that 2K should put into WWE games though. AEW makes the mistake of going back to shitty gameplay mechanics just out of nostalgia but what it does well should be implemented into WWE games.

Nah, bought that game today for $60 and I don't regret it. Bought 2K22 during Christmas last year for $20 and I legitimately would have rather payed $20 for Coal cause that game is less VALUED by me than actually Coal.

I have no problem with that The art style is fine and fun but the game is severly lacking in modes, and even care to detail The tables are the WORST offender of being unprepared and lazily detailed

Ofc they're trying to replicate N64 WWF No Mercy, but the graphics are literally at MOST 10 years behind. Even then, the Steel Steps on PS4 are reflective, that's more than I can say for 2K23.
