That was the first thing I tried out yesterday. Arguably the most important race class for average GTA Online players because of the prize ride. It's competitive in street races, but you can definitely feel the Calicos pull away on the straights and that probably makes it kind of bad in pursuit races.

I was not expecting the newest Banshee to be already zipping through the track at its base form, but to have break 170MPH upgraded took me by surprise. Though I do hope you can upload the Emergencies vehicle testing soon, I’m thoroughly confused how it wasn’t ready, but as expected of R*, they have it in dripfeed for the next half a year for you to finish. The original banshee is my favorite gta car ever and seeing the new GTS I LOVE IT MORE especially that it dominates in the straights. With bumps in city driving you can hit 185+

Gotta love Rockstar. A Viper ACR which is what this is based off of has a lower top speed than a normal Viper due to the absolutely insane amount of downforce it has. Although what do I honestly expect, these are the same people who have a game mechanic that says motorcycles are faster in a wheelie than in a full tuck and killing a curb means one gets a speed boost.

Wasn’t surprised that the Banshee GTS was going to be a top car since it’s the flagship vehicle of the dlc 🔥 I do wish R* would still do what they were originally doing with HSW and put it on og and old dlc cars to make them relevant again, especially since it’s just boosting up stats, having selected mods be forged carbon, and a HSW badg on the back (legit simple stuff). But I guess once R* put it on the newest, released cars and the community loved it, they weren’t gonna stick to the plan 😓

@@gokar377 For source-material accuracy. When I throw it into a corner I expect it to handle like my real life Accord. It seems like they made that choice just to coddle to the average player. We have enough car handling lines that feel like a copy paste, at least give some of the cars some unique attributes in order to make them stand out. Give the car its own personality. Besides that, we barely have any FWD cars in the game, as it is. There's several other FWD cars where they intentionally swapped the drive wheels. The Taurus police car is one that comes to mind.

I did some digging and found out that, despite making up ~55% of sales in the US, only ~2.5% of the vehicles in GTA V are FWD (which is some pretty heinous underrepresentation). RWD, on the other hand, is ~12% of the vehicles sold IRL, but a staggering ~55% of GTA V cars. I think you're probably right that part of it is intended to make driving easier for the average player, but it's also because most DLC cars (which generally tend to be much sportier) have been RWD or AWD. This obviously doesn't excuse the butchering of cars that are actually FWD irl, but it does somewhat mitigate the RWD bias because most of the original FWD vehicles are in traffic, which is where I'd want to see them anyway. Imo this is something they *have* to nail in GTA 6. If every normal car in traffic is a RWD grip machine (like the current sedans class), I worry the game will lose the risk and excitement that comes with interacting with traffic in story/freeroam. Still, though, I keep my expectations low, because R*

Sidenote: definitely invest in the Arbiter GT HSW if you’re into muscle cars and want crazy speeds. Before HSW, a Benny’s Sabre was my fastest muscle car. I still have it, but the HSW upgrades make driving the Arbiter GT much more fun in my opinion 👌🏼👌🏼

I play on old gen and bought the new banshee because I really love vipers. I tried testing it against the itali rsx on two of my tracks but both times the new banshee was slower by 1-2 seconds. One track was more technical and had narrower corners, whilst the other had mid and high speed section and lots of runway. what track characteristics would make the banshee more competitive to the rsx?

Well what do you know, the rumors about the Banshee GTS having the highest top speed were right. I was already loving the car just because it was a new Banshee and it had HSW but knowing it's the highest land vehicle for top speed and 3rd for lap time, I love it even more. No wonder why it's the free vehicle for GTA+ this month. I am excited to see if the Firebolt ASP can beat the MonstroCiti since it can have HSW and is the tier 4 award for the Career Progress. I'm still with you though on how older cars should get HSW and the newer stuff shouldn't need it (and I guess the Banshee GTS is a perfect example of that).

Whats the difference between the extra modes the banshee gts gets with hsw? I think it has a sport mode, and a race plus mode that both increase the acceleration, but i can't tell if there's a difference in handling or what.

They're just like extra turbo upgrades, and as with any upgrade you always want the biggest one (ie. the last one on the list). None of the HSW upgrades improve handling. Did a freeroam top speed challenge with the Banshee Today and hit 197mph on the highway. 197. (Unsure how accurate the readings of the free roam challenges are), but I've never hit that speed in any car. Not even a glitched 811.

All of them do. As long as you select an option that isn’t stock, you will get the increased traction bonus. There is a caveat though, if the car has an active spoiler, it overrides the spoiler bonus, so the options become purely cosmetic.

The rule is whatever is at the top of the list doesn’t add traction, everything else does. So with the banshee removing the spoiler adds traction.
