Look into Pierpont Board of Governors associates degree - literally the fastest degree you can obtain with Sophia, and no cost at the school

Very cool. I still prefer just hacking the entire Bachelor's Degree at once. But if you have a specific need for only an Associate's, this could be a great solution.

Hi! Thanks so much for the info, i reached out to them. Is it possible to do this fully online or do you have to attend a class sometimes?

Can you elaborate on this (No cost). What are their credit transfer requirements? I have over 60 Sophia credits and am interested in getting my AA just for an extra certificate to hang on the wall to be honest.

Fundamentally, I agree with you on preferring the Bachelor's over the Associate's. I do believe the Associate's serves a purpose though.

Absolutely. There are very specific situations where they are needed. 95% + should skip straight to their Bachelor's... but there are a small amount of people who will gain career benefits with an Associate's Degree.

In the army a associate helps you promote. Doesn’t matter what type. That’s why I want to do it fast
@9monthcollegegrad-ryansway6712 ай бұрын
Makes sense. Why not hack a full Bachelor's Degree. Bigger promotion and can still be done just as fast.

I really appreciate what you do here. Great work!! Do you happen to know any way someone could hack grad school as well?
@9monthcollegegrad-ryansway6712 жыл бұрын
Options are very limited for accelerating grad school, but there are a number of schools that are currently developing "Hackable" grad programs. Currently, Capella has a few Grad programs that are self paced. They call these "FlexPath" programs.

How is a competency based Bachelors faster? An associate's is less credits and the same transfer options usually apply, CLEP, DSST, ACE, Industry Certs. You can get an Associate's on your way to earn a Bachelors and many of the credits will transfer.

That's a great point! To clarify, if you're comparing a Competency Based Associate's Degree to a Competency Based Bachelor's Degree... I'm not claiming that the Bachelor's Degree is faster than the Associate's Degree. I'm saying that it's faster to skip the Associate's and get the Bachelor's rather than doing both. A good amount of credits earned during an Associate's degree will transfer. But most of the time, you'll end up taking several classes that won't. So in the end, you'll be taking more than the traditional 40 classes. Keep in mind, there are very few truly Competency Based Associate's programs out there. Most people who earn Associate's degrees take about 3 years to finish. If you can earn a Bachelor's Degree in under a year by testing out of all your classes it's way faster. But if you're one of the select few who can get an Associate's in a few months on your way to your Bachelor's... I'm all for it! There just aren't many people who can. There are always exceptions, but I try to gear my videos toward the majority. Hope that makes sense.

Something he didn't mention. If you get Hella financial aid you go to community College for practically nothing. I go my associates degree in 2 years and paid only for textbook rentals. I'm transferring to brooklyn college for film now

Very cool, congrats! Financial Aid + Degree Hacking! That's when things get really cool!
