I did a huge amount of block paving back in the 80s when of course I was alot fitter. With 2 of us laying we used to achieve 80 to 100 metres a day. Its all good if the blocks and sand are to hand when needed. We had a guy who used to just cut in. And we would jump in when not laying or screeding sand. It really keeps you fit. This guy knows his stuff. Keeping that orientation is alot harder than it looks. If you get it wrong you could spend an hour or more with a shovel lining the blocks back up. We also used to put blocks end down in the gaps ready for cutting. It also helps to keep the gaps true. 👍👍Bloody good job.
@LBFresh Жыл бұрын
I remember one time I was laying a court yard. I was the cut man and I layed brick. Luckily this day I didn't cut and I was just laying. The foreman wanted to cut this particular day cuz it was a lot of pipes in the blue print. As I was laying and he was cutting he accidentally cut one of the pipes and water got all in the sand. Mannnnn it was a headache trying to repair that. We got the job done before the deadline thank God lol

Need to know how you are making bricks stay in place. Just bought bricks to do patio in this pattern. My husband believes that there has to be a space between bricks. I do not want a space. the big question is what are you putting on top to keep them in place. I have two pallets of bricks. You are an awesome paver but would like to see the whole job. Thanks for any advice you can give. This is a first time for us but my husband has plenty of building experience just not with bricks.
@MrYanbo9 жыл бұрын
Brandon O'Shields Not a brickie, or a paver, but i am sure the bricks/ blocks usuually have 2 protruding groves down each side which creates the small space between bricks. The space is to put (usually) kiln dried sand down to complete it and you can also seal it with patio/ driveway sealer too. Hope that helps.

People get confused as to why sometimes you get tradesman that are quick but efficient. But then there are efficient tradesman that take their time. and then there are tradesman that are quick but leave the site ‘unfinished’. hourly rate is excusable when you are this good. you pay for the quality of the end product and if time is of the essence this man should be awarded the same if. Or more than the person who ‘takes their time’.
