@@virgilius7036 - They are 'not collapsing' only for one reason. And that is the EU funding contribution to East European countries. Poland has been the single largest beneficiary. The infusion of massive funding that the East European countries received from EU was on a similar scale (if not more) than the US Marshall Funds for the then West European countries after WW2. Without this EU funding, the Eastern European countries would have remained poor, after the collapse of the Berlin Wall. But I would be very worried if I was one of those East European countries, because the EU funding is going to stop in the near future - mainly because the once-wealthy Western European countries are themselves now in big economic trouble - with many of them reaching Debt-GDP ratios of more than 100%. The fact is after Brexit (the British funding stopped), and now the German & French economies in serious trouble, and the rise of the far Right parties, it is only a matter of time before the EU funding completely dries up. And when that happens, many of the East European countries will also start facing trouble.

I think it has something to do with the EU, they are forced to take in the migrants or lose money. But every country is losing its own identity. Today in Portugal, multiple centers were open to legalize 400k people that we don't know anything about. I live in Canada. Canada used to be a very peaceful, clean, and prosperous country. I'm Australian and we have exactly the same problem. Our government has allowed migrants to come from basically anywhere and they call it multiculturalism and it doesn't work. Migration from western countries is fine. At least we have similar cultures and beliefs. Many people from some third world countries bring their hatreds and extreme religious views with them and do not attempt to intergrate with the local population. For sure this video has opened my eyes about some European countries! A decade ago a friend of mine migrated to UK with his entire family. Few years later he used to tell how they live a paradise like life! He showered a lot praises to European culture, economy and you name it! But as years passed on I could see the guy hardly come back here and whereever he comes you could see he has nothing new to offer! One day he preached me on migrating to Europe, but I dismissed him like a thin air! This was so abvious life in our African countries is like in paradise! Enough land to till and so forth! Again in terms of economic comparison, I came to reliase why European countries and USA are scared by Chinese economic achievements in the shortest period of less than 70 years! The economic mirracles in Asia (India as one of them) and other countries give pressure to these countries! And this explains why in Africa they keep us under ecomonic pressure to make sure we do not move forward economically! The IMF and World Bank economic plans are used for this particular reason. Civil wars and internal conflicts in many countries in Africa now in Eastern Europe are the result of these "declining" countries to keep us on their ecomonic line!

It takes away incentive to do better and with emphasis on social programs and less on business concerns, the countries start to decline. Capitalism is the only thing that works long term.

@gerrylanter8109 Respectfully: There are people who react to any sort of opposition to their own beliefs with hostility, rage, rudeness, and often sarcasm. Many times they show that their beliefs and viewpoints on certain matters are not held by them through carefully thought out judgments based on facts but often emotions. They feel threatened when one or several of these anti-rationally based conclusions is questioned by a rational mind. In a way, they want one to respond to their emotions as they do. : By holding them as the equal to truth. These sorts of people I "mute" because it is like talking to a drunk, nothing comes of it. As I do not live in the Netherlands I may indeed be wrong but civilized conversation cannot be had with certain types of people.

There is nothing to "RESEARCH". The answer is rather very simple. Prior to 1945, West Europe (rather 8 of the countries) ran vast Empires round the globe - over ¾th of the total land area and ruling over (looting, $ 43,000,000,000 from India alone) over ¾th of Humanity. This process continued between 2 to 3 centuries. Something happened in 1939(Europeans fought bitterly the other Europeans) and as their colonies the whole world "too", was involved in WW II (1939 September 1 to 1945 April 30, in Europe). These small (European) countries were bankrupt no sooner, neck-deep in debts to America (far from battle-fields & participated in the the War, of its own free volition for is own "gain" that is enormous). So they threw up their arms and ended the War, but forced to set free their colonies (the largest being India). They were licking their wounds(& paying back their loans!). But how to "maintain" that same glitter & pomp of London & Paris? Tried all methods to rope their former colonies in, in Economic trade relations (exploitation again; I can write a book) but that too soured. Yet, the Technological edge enabled them to continue their lives equally well. But it takes time to "taper" off. And it got tapered off. Now. each of them have to make do, with what they can, at home, eat what they can grow etc. So it is painful, to say the least. With a Euro-centric view (as you displayed, fondly describing the better past with nostalgia mingled, as if all others don't have or somehow are heathen) you can't reach at these conclusions (or basic truths). Last but not the least - after the industrial revolution has been ushered in, in 1750 (in England; remember James Watt & his steam engine), industries proliferated and there is an increasing demand for "work force". The dirty word of "third wold over-population" with own populations dwindling (to "0" growth), over-population has suddenly lost its dirty connotation & became rosy. A new trick has to be "invented" and that was Globalisation - use the "cheap" labour of Third world to produce goods, stamped with "your" brands to sell & make money. That too has run its course. Now, what next? All others (you describe) are transitory.
