Fastest way to sweep and vacuum your swimming pool - guaranteed.
*Sweep the steps and around the steps
*Sweep the walls. Be sure to get your angles correct. Sweep all the dirt and leaves towards to deep end.
*Sweep the bottom. All the dirt goes to the deep end.
*Allow the dirt and algae and debris to settle for a few minutes. Gravity will cause it to settle to the pool floor.
All of the pool's dirt should be collected in the deep end of the pool.
*Last step is to vacuum.
Be sure you have the filter OFF when sweeping. You don't want the dirt to hit any of the returns and be churned up.
This is the best and easiest way to get and keep your pool clean. You'll be able to cut the cleaning time down by 1/2.

I'm a cert 3 tech everyone has there own idea on pool cleaning I brush walls and steps if it's really bad and a large pool I'll do to waste but if it's a smaller pool like 40,000 I'll filter when I see hint of stuff coming out of jets I'll backwash. Use di-Chloe in summer to shock pool as it contains stabiliser witch can mask readings if high use cal hypo if calcium is low as to much calcium will leave white staining on water edging and grout and if stabiliser and calcium are high use liquid chlorine as it's just chlorine. Use whatever chlorine to what fits your test and use a algae killer as well when doing shock then put a floc or clarifier in at end u can use filter to clean out water or turn off everything for 24-48h then vac bottom after. I'm a tech pool cleaner but still look up videos as that's how u learn. Do a test first before doing a clean. Good video tho

When pool is clean then retest and balance pool. If chlorine is high 6+ it will mask alkaline and will b higher then test. Keep chlorine around 3-4 and shouldn't have issue any higher will cause sore eyes and damage covers. To low and it goes green

For anyone who is interested, there's a study from the Florida Atlantic University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. It states in Section 1 - Operating Hours Study that dirt sinks to the bottom and chemicals stay in solution. Dirt will settle which is caused by gravity and due to the fact that the particles are heavier than water and will sink. You can first brush, then skim the top, test your chemicals, clean the deck and hook up the vacuum. During this time the dirt will settle, allowing for faster and easier cleaning.

No way silly. The only way to vacuum a pool is to attach your hose to your automatic cleaner drop it in slowly into the shallow end, sit back, put your feet up get yourself a drink and watch it crawl over the bottom of the pool to clean it. This is the only way to clean the interior of a pool. Been doing this for over 30 years and trust me it is the only way.

Dude, I got news for you that is not dirt it is algae. You need to shock your pool and keep the chlorine level higher, especially in the summer. Then you should clean your filter since you just sucked all that junk right into it. A clean filter is the secret to having clear water.

Chris Morris its the best method if you are vacuuming to waste as you will suck out less water because you are covering less surface area... but you can vacuum all over the pool if you are just filtering the debris and save your energy from brushing to one end.... it’s all a personal preference.

@@adjuster57 it’s more cleaning, might take 5 minutes but to keep circulation correct for the dolphin you should be cleaning the filter everytime you use, so 5 minutes just to wash each time times 3 is 15 minutes plus about another 2-5 just to get everything taken apart and put back together now you are at about 20-25 min when you could vacuum once a week and that takes 10-15 min

Hi Mac. With the lack of details offered, I can only give you general statements. Your pump might not have enough suction, is clogged up, you're vacuuming too fast, not a good vacuum head, hose is bad, vacuum head is too small for your size pool, etc.. There could be many reasons or combination of reasons why you're not getting the results you want.

As someone who fumbled around with his pool for a few years, please please please listen to what this man is saying. Your brush is your friend. The brush makes your job deceptively easier so you think it's doing the job half-ass. It's not. If your brush isn't being used more than your vacuum, you are likely doing it wrong. I have to keep reminding myself of this. Also, as he said-- go slow.

Looks like algae and dirt just brush the dam walls skim the leaves make sure your filter is clean backwash it.. than shock the crap out of the pool use CAL-HYPO OR DI-CLOR .. put some tabs in a chlorine floater....let pump run over night and if it cleared up you will have a lot of dead age on bottom than now you got to vacuum pool on waste to get all the crap out than backwash again and rinse than back to filter ..if that don't work you got to floc the pool

I've tried every trick read every thing about getting sand out of pool, after two seasons, I decided, to try out a idea I had, believe me this works best, my pool floor is the cleanest I've ever gotten it, this is what I do, I don't use the skimmer attachment, I put hose directly into skimmer pipe, Oh, I have a above ground pool, but will work on any pool, now I put reg. vacuum hose pipes and attach a small brush head onto the pool hose, when you do it this way, you don't lose suction, as I did when I followed pool vaccum instructions, only problem I had was I had too much suction, it sucked up my pool liner and the sand underneath the pool, left a indention, which I smoothed out with my foot, then I laid the brush head against my foot in a angle, not to be flushed to pool, but the suction power is so powerful, it does a wonderful job, before I did this, I'd vacuum pool like they said, it looked clean, until hours later, when the sand would settle back in bottom of pool, so really all the vacuum did was stir the sand, but my way cleaned it all up, I vacuum the pool walls and using the small brush head I'm able to get in those tight spots like around and under the ladder steps. and you keep you pump on filter, I hope this helps everyone dealing with vacuuming their pools, I did mine last week, still clear, no more grit, or sand.

You're completely right about consistency. But there's alot of misinformation out in pool land, especially concerning pool chemistry. If the chemistry is not right a pool will get algae, then the headache of cleaning comes into play.

Hi Adena. Unfortunately, or maybe not, I don't have any videos on how to remove calcium on tiles. The pool I've taken care of don't have that issue any longer. However, you can try Scale Be Gone. I've tried it and it works fairly well. Finishing with a pressure washer works well. You can check out this video I did a few years ago about maintaining your tile. I live in FL and even with high CH fill water, well over 300 ppm, scale can be contained to a minimum. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJ21h3iKndmWbqs

Man your seem like a real dude.. but this is Awful.. don’t disturb just vacuum clean Filter and once again vacuum and Then you brush only in stubborn areas and then once again vacuum no need to clean filter until next filter clean .

Thanks for the compliment. One could understand why a position such as that could be held, but the Universal Laws of Physics to which every pool in the world is subject, along with a scientific study done by scientists and researchers at the Florida Atlantic University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering disagree with your statement. Thanks for watching and have a great day.

Very good idea to consolidate debris to deep end. Most effective for then vacuuming. I also use a skim vac plate for quicker clean up with skimmer basket under plate. I had trouble keeping skim vac plate from losing prime and floating. I could not get a good seal until I tried a gasket called poolvacsaver that easily attached to my skim vac plate and it is a game changer. I have so much more suction Im using a vacuum hose that has a couple small holes in it. Never got away with holes in vac hose before when vacuuming.

Shouldn't you say it took 2.5 hours to clean the pool from beginning to end since you took 2 hours off to let dirt settle? Is there a better way to do it all at once?
@cleanpoolspa-ultimateswimm6373
@cleanpoolspa-ultimateswimm6373 8 жыл бұрын
The actual work time was only 15 minutes. The dirt and particles get suspended in the water and need time to settle. Sweeping is much faster than vacuuming so when you sweep to one area you only need to vacuum that area. I said 2 hours as a happy medium. Some pools may require less time due to less dirt. This pool was pretty dirty so it took a bit longer for all the dirt to settle but the actual work time was cut in half.

Abram Ruelas Why would you vacuum first then brush? If you sweep first more of that fine debris will settle by the time you vacuum. Thus removing more from the pool. Your procedure is the same as vacuuming your home before you dust. Doesn't make sense.

This is the way I would do it if I had a pool in my backyard but when you're out cleaning 10+ pools a day you don't have the time to wait around for all that algae to settle to the bottom.

Good job and video. Thanks for interest in trying to help pool owners Consider (as home owner) Do at end of day when pool pump off Yes to sweeping to deep end, dirt/debri naturally goes that way. Sweep at 45 degrees down sides and bottom (brush works easier that way) and shunt dirt down the pool to deep end, dirt will lift but eventually settle (overnight is best) Use Alum (aluminium oxide) or flocking agent if particles very fine. Just cast into pool or dissolve in water / skimmer box before distribution. Not a bad idea to kill algae with correct chems / ph Next day, start filter, use filter at deep end. Extend pole, vacuum opposite half pool to centre line and change sides (easier to see and pole not standing upright at your feet) If quantity of dirt will overwhelm filter, I have used a filter sock in skimmer basket to catch most rubbish (blocks quickly but easier to rinse out) If really really bad, don't worry about sock / filter and vacuum straight to waste. Minimising area to vacuum is what saves the time / water wasted. My sand filter was sending dirt back into pool. sand replacement wouldn't help due to age unit. Regrettably had to replace it (bought a good one second hand) I also found out salt chlorinator cell had given up. Replaced with another. Water HAS NEVER LOOKED CLEANER or better Now kept clean this way and in conjunction with auto cleaner

This is true and why you can sweep everything to the deep-end, allow it to settle, then vacuum to either filter or waste, if you have a multi-port valve. Waste is the setting where you would lose water, not filter. And cartridge filters have no settings to adjust. Thanks for watching.

What about above ground round pools? Is there a specific easier method for them? I always sweep down the walls and push any dirt/debris towards the middle of the pool which is where the filter sends it when it's being filtered (but often times it actually seems to end up being pushed back over an area that's already been swept, but perhaps that's caused by me pushing the stuff too hard even though I try to sweep relatively slow to prevent stirring the dirt up, etc.). Is this the correct way to do it, or should I actually try to push all the debris/dirt from one end to the other instead of to the middle? LOL Oh, decisions, decisions. Any tips to make this easier is appreciated.
@cleanpoolspa-ultimateswimm6373
@cleanpoolspa-ultimateswimm6373 6 жыл бұрын
@ 1:40 I somewhat mention the point you made. For an above ground pool if we brush on one side then go to the exact opposite side and brush we're simply pushing the dirt back to the same original location. Gently sweep everything towards the skimmer to contain the dirt with the pump off and allow a few minutes for the dirt to settle as you take your tests, remove debris out of the pool, clean whatever, etc...

A good product for the pine needles is the leaf bagger. Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZLUiGmtg5qkgMU. After you remove as much debris as you can it will be time to clear up the pool, but try as best you can to remove the debris. Foam might be caused by using a copper algaecide.

The main area to consider is what your current market is. What are other pool guys charging? And to what degree would you want to be involved? Chems only? Chems and cleaning? Repairs? Some combination of the three? Are you going to try to get your route organically, through referrals, or go through a pool route broker?

@cleanpoolspa-ultimateswimm6373
@cleanpoolspa-ultimateswimm6373 6 жыл бұрын
If your system has a multiport valve you can vacuum to waste. This bypasses the filter but you're going to lose water so keep the pool topped off. We never want the water level to get below the skimmer.
