Sam Sieracki is quite the action-teen .. an accomplished skydiver already, and with a love of the Rubik's cube puzzle .. the 17 year old Aussie teenager brilliantly combines his dual passions for speed-cubing and freefall skydiving .. making both feats look rather easier than they actually are in reality!!
"It was more difficult than I expected as there were many safety considerations we had to account for. Such as not dropping the Rubik's cube in case it landed on someone. It took me five attempts to set the new Fastest Rubik's Skydiving record at 28.25 seconds.. " Sam told Guavo Media.
It took Sam a lightning fast 28.25 seconds to solve the Rubik's puzzle and all at such an astonishing altitude of uptown 14,000 feet high up in the Western Australia skies ..
As a result of his record-breaking puzzle-solving jump .. he now holds the record for completing the puzzle both high up in the skies as well as on the ground, being able to solve a scrambled Rubik's puzzle at a lightning fast 6.5 seconds whilst stationary on Earth!
“Solving the puzzle whilst in the air is very challenging because it is very loud and you’ve got all the wind blowing in your face. It’s a lot harder to concentrate than if I’m just on the ground solving it and I also have to hold on tight to the cube from the force of the strong winds." Sam added.
Embarking on his passion for skydiving at the young age of 16, Sam received all the support from his family and girlfriend who encouraged him to push his limits and go for the world record.
(The skydiving attempt took place earlier in 2023, however the world record was officially recognised in October 2023.)
