I got a form one back in 5 days. But form 4s have been 9 to 10 months, and i was happy with that. I bought a rugged obsidian 2 weeks ago still waiting to certify.

Bought 2 Form 4 suppressors in one week. Fist one was approved in 39 hrs - 2nd was approved in 41 hrs. FYI - eForm, Individual in Arizona. Previous stamp collector.

on the e-forms website, they added a NFA processing Q&A, where they have finally answered our questions as to how their processing system works after all these fucking years they finally let us know lol. So now starting back in February any form that goes thru the system and gets a proceed from the FBI-NICS gets approved right away. prior to the atf implementing this new process any form ahead of you that got a delay in the background check process would pretty much automatically delay you as well, even though you got a proceeded to begin with. So now anybody that gets a delay will pretty much get tossed to the side, and all the proceed applications will head straight towards approval. Processing times are definitely going to change and get faster from now on based off of what the ATF said. Also individual forms get processed faster than trust forms per the atf and batch approvals will now be a thing as along as your ss# is on all forms.

Sorry to hear that. At our store we try to get everything done while the customers in the store, it just takes a few days for silencer shop to process the papers and then you have to go back to certify them.

Shortest time I have experienced was 5 months and 1 day, shortest was about 3 months. I had five outstanding and they were all approved in the same week.

My issue is with the FBI. They are taking forever with all my forms and I don't know how to clear it up. I even went and got a UPIN. I have a SBS on hold waiting for FBI to get done. Actually had a nice and helpful last on the line when I called the NFA division. Said they already did their part and it's approved pending FBI.

@@mudgunner I submitted a dead air sandman L on March 6 so 2 days ago, we will see how long it takes…I have 3 cans I’ve been waiting on since early August 2023 it’s been over 200 days now and the average wait Time was 150 days when I submitted them, now the wait times are 196 days per eform 4…I’ve got 4 in there now so I’m curious what will come home first

I am not sure what that means. Form 2’s are just for dealers as far as I know

It means they want manufacturers to submit the backed up forms they weren’t able to submit when eforms was down. They removed the form4 option from the eforms website. Form4 is all you need to be concerned about if you are buying from a dealer with the can on the shelf

It was a rumor. Don't believe everything you hear. The website was down because they updated their FAQ about how NFA approvals are done. They changed the process to be based on NICS approval. If your background check gets performed and comes back clean, your can should be approved very shortly afterwards.

It's back up with updated information on their new process for form 4's(and possibly form 1s? I don't know if that's included as well or what). They basically said they changed how they do the approval process. it used to be done on a first come, first serve basis. Now it is going to be based on your NICS approval(and also to some extent still first come first serve, but not necessarily in every case). They said this new process started in early February 2024 and it explains why suddenly people are getting approved very fast.

It's already back up. They updated their website with an explanation of their new approval process...it's in the FAQ section. Basically, approvals are now based on NICS background checks which explains why individuals are getting approved faster than trusts and it explains why foreign born citizens are taking longer etc.
