@@Edgeofdavid I have never heard anyone ever having an issue with multiple Visa runs (assuming you never overstayed a visa before ) and if you do the bus run you can technically come back the same day. @Willtravelz4 ай бұрын
@@teacherrichard2081 so you have two options You can either apply online yourself for the new E-Visa, which most people have been getting denied with the reason being the government saying that you're still in the country. Or about a few weeks or even up to a month before your current Visa expires you could go into the Visa agency and let them know you want them to apply for your new e Visa. Everyone has told me they have a much better chance of getting your new visa approved compared to you applying for it yourself online. I think it's only an extra 10 or $20 for them to apply for your new visa. If you choose that route you could also pay them the $130 or so of what it cost to do the bus Visa run. I'm actually going to be doing my next visa run next month, I'm going to have the agency apply for my new visa directly through them rather than doing it myself online this time.
@serulric71764 ай бұрын
So do you have to apply online for a new e-visa for Vietnam before taking the border run trip? Or do you get your new (Vietnam) visa at the border? Great videos, thanks for the info.
@Willtravelz4 ай бұрын
@@serulric7176 so you literally have two options you can apply yourself online a lot of people this past year I've been saying they've been getting denied saying that they're still in the country. If that happens you need to go to a Visa agency that can clear that up for you. Or you can simply skip the step of applying for yourself online and go through the Visa agency that I took the bus trip with and they can take care of it for you from the start.
@sophiapetros76024 ай бұрын
I was waiting for this. Thanks. I’d do the first time 90 day visa online myself a week or two before travel and maybe ONLY use Lynn Visa for the additional renewal 90 day visa runs. Q: Since you were late: Should we be contacting Lynn Visa a week before our 90 day expiration? Geez another $200 to add to the budget. Basically it sound like sitting on the bus is a good way to catch up on sleep. Q: I have a tiny bladder (I need a bathroom at least every 4hours : do they have bathrooms in Laos ? Q: Did you guys check-in to the hotel 🏨Or just wait there ?
@Willtravelz4 ай бұрын
So you can apply for everything yourself. The only issue that I had was that the governments really cracking down on granting a new e Visa while you're in the country. That's why mine got denied. And by the time it got denied I didn't have enough time to try to reapply. Therefore I had to pay the extra $50 or $60 for the same day Visa. The whole trip would have been $130 If I didn't need the expedited same-day Visa. Also they make about two I think stops on the way there and two stops back at designated stops with bathrooms. And my group of people probably about six or seven of us just waited at the rooftop restaurant at the motel. But there was other people that walked around the rural area of the Laos border. I heard some people even went into another cafe. So you can basically do what you want there's usually a few people that have already done the Visa run so just follow them they know where to go. The only thing you need to keep an eye on is your email or WhatsApp because they will send you a message letting you know your visa's done and that's when you start hitting back to pick up your visa and get back to Vietnam border and the bus. The bus is very comfortable also it had air conditioning it had a place to plug into charge your phone The seats fully recline and their massaging chairs too. So it was much more comfortable and easier than I thought it would be. The worst part about it was getting up early in the morning besides that everything else was smooth.

Honestly you are better off booking 3 months in advance a return airplane ticket to Bangkok , Don Mueang airport (it's cheaper than going to Suvarnabhumi) Good video showing alternative options tho 👍
@Willtravelz4 ай бұрын
So the only drawbacks to the plane Visa run is that you would have to wait 3 to 5 days for the EVisa to process ( unless you pay the extra 60 bucks to do a 4-hour rush Visa) It basically will end up taking you almost exactly the same amount of time since you have to get to the airport 2 hours or so in advance and then depending on when your return flight was coming back you would have to come back to the airport a few hours in advance also. Last year I was doing the Bangkok to danang flight Visa run. So basically it's almost exactly the same price. The biggest difference I would say is you just get on a bus and sit there basically 90% of the time and then wait for your visa to be processed and get back on the bus and you're back by 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. that night. Where is on the plane you have to go wait at the airport check in possibly have a delayed flight And then also hope that your 4-hour rush visa will be done in time and not mess up your return ticket coming back. It's literally a toss up between the two I've done both and actually either one is fine with me. I probably would prefer flying if I was going to stay in a country longer, I would prefer the bus if I wanted to come back the same day. Thanks for watching the video. 👍👍

@@Willtravelzif the costs of Air/Land visa run are the same...assuming staying costs in Thailand & Vietnam are also the same...why not spending 3/5 days in Thailand when you wait for your eVisa to get approved? 🤔
@Willtravelz4 ай бұрын
@@supratik A few reasons. The first reason is that you're going to pay extra for that hotel or whatever place you rent in Bangkok. I rent the two bedroom two bathroom one block off the beach paying $17 a night for it here in danang. There's no way I will find anything close to that price in Bangkok especially that size. The second issue is that you play a risky game. So let's say you book a round trip ticket from danang to Bangkok you land in Bangkok and what happens now if your Visa gets delayed or there's an issue on your new visa? Now you're going to miss your returning flight because your Visa got delayed and you've already booked your return ticket back. Or if you say well don't book your return ticket back before you get your new visa, then you're going to be buying a return ticket within a day or at most two before the flight which is definitely not going to be cheap. So basically the big part is you're going to be spending more money either on a hotel or more money to buy a return ticket back on such a short notice.

So basically you just pay them an extra fee you don't have to do any other work. You have two options you can apply in advance online most likely you'll get denied for being in the country. @@ChasWatkins no so let me correct that part. The emergency visa only comes in the part of when you apply for your Visa. I applied about 2 weeks before my Visa date expired. And then what I did was I applied for a new visa but I was denied by Vietnam for being still in the country when applying (apparently this rule just started being cracked down this year) so I needed an emergency visa to come back the same day That's why I needed it. But it seems most other people don't need an emergency Rush Visa (as long as they get there Visa approved and not denied like I did before the bus run) The best way that I found to avoid this was to have the agency apply for your visa rather than applying for your new visa yourself online.

It won’t be long and Agents will be the only certain way of getting a visa renewal & their subsequent Visa run service. Having to be OUT of the country to apply yourself puts you in an uncomfortable situation since you can’t plan anything for certain longer than 90 days. Advance rent paid, a motorbike, furniture & personal stuff left in Vietnam while you’re OUT hoping your application won’t be denied is not tenable for most people ..unless you travel with a backpack & stay in guest houses. Personally I prefer a retirement Visa in a neighbouring country in the Region as a base …..and just do side trips wherever & whenever. Been doing it that way for 13 years . I did see a guy on a forum in Vietnam say that he “stacked” 12 months of visas by going to Bangkok and applying for 4 x 90 day visas with a 3 day break in between to allow for quick border travel. He said all were approved. So he’s got them on file now & knows where he’ll be 12 months ahead. Maybe he’s onto something…..

The "cost of the visa" refers to obtaining a LAOS VISA right? As an American, someone could have chosen to travel to say Thailand for one day or longer with zero Thailand visa cost, correct? Here people chose to go to LaoS for some reason. What is the reason(s)?
@Willtravelz4 ай бұрын
@@charlienoriega basically it's the same price, a round trip ticket from da Nang to Bangkok is between $130 and $150. The bus Visa run is $160. But the thing about it is, you would have to go stay in Bangkok for 3 to 5 days to wait to get your new evisa. Which means you're going to be paying more for accommodation waiting in Bangkok. Since Bangkok is more expensive than Vietnam. Or you could choose to get the expedited Visa to come back the next day from Bangkok, but the risk is that if somehow the expedited Visa gets delayed or doesn't go through you've already purchased a return flight ticket back to Vietnam which you will not be able to use if that expedited Visa has an issue. So to summarize it there roughly the same exact price except for the bus you return the same day and you literally sit on the bus most of the day, where is the option flying to Bangkok you still spend a good amount of time going to the airport flying and then you have a risk of something going wrong or being delayed on your expedited visa and missing your return flight back. All last year I did the Bangkok to Vietnam flight option. but I did it all in the same day I would leave at 9:00 in the morning from Vietnam and return back from Bangkok to Vietnam at 6:00 p.m.. but the government stopped allowing you to apply for a new Visa while you're in the country. That's the whole reason why I do the bus run instead of the flight now.

@Willtravelz4 ай бұрын
So you can apply for the Visa while you're in Vietnam the problem is a lot of times it gets denied and the reason will say denied because you're still in the country. That's the whole reason why I had to get the 4-Hour Rush expedited Visa that I talked about in the video. But whether you take the bus to Laos or if you take a flight out of the country you could still apply for that 4-Hour Rush Visa and if it's approved in time that day you could return back by flight if you were going to choose the flight option. It will just cost you between 50 and $60 for that expedited Rush Visa which you would apply through an agency for that expedited Visa.

And we were only technically out of Vietnam for about 2 hours maybe two and a half hours if you count everything. We walked from the Vietnam border to the laos border which maybe was 10 minutes or so. This is going to be your simplest fastest way. All in all the day takes about 12 to 13 hours. You could do it by plane but it's going to be getting to the airport a few hours early before check in flying to another country and then waiting for a new e Visa to be processed which is 3 to 5 business days. Or I have heard that you can fly out of the country and also do the emergency rush Visa which takes four to six hours. So you have the option for both. That's the exact reason why I had to pay the extra $60 for the rush visa the day of doing the border run. So I would probably recommend paying the extra 10 or $20 I think it was to have them do the whole Visa process for you It wasn't much more money I just didn't know about it at the time. But if you're confident and want to save a few dollars you could do the visa online manually yourself. For that kind of money, I’d go to Bangkok for a few days and come back instead of spending hours on the bus and waiting at the border.
@Willtravelz4 ай бұрын
That was an option The problem is the flight dilemma. So here's the issue let's say you book a round trip ticket to Bangkok right. You land in Bangkok You contact the agency to get you an emergency Rush Visa within 24 hours, what happens if your Visa has an issue or is delayed You now will miss your round trip ticket flight. Or let's go on the other side and say you only book a one-way ticket because you want to wait till you get to Bangkok and try to wait until you get your visa to book your return trip ticket, now you run the risk of paying a lot of money for a return trip ticket since the flight would be only one or two days away which usually the price of a one or two day ticket in advance usually cost more than a ticket bought in advance. Also the slight advantage of the bus is literally you wake up early get on the bus and you're done within 12 hours without doing anything besides getting on a bus and coming back later that day. Also remember hotels in Bangkok are much more expensive than rentals in danang. For example I pay $18 a night for my two bedroom two bathroom one block on the beach (which is expensive here in danang) in Bangkok You could never find something the size of my two bedroom for that price. So going to Bangkok will definitely cost you more money. And remember my channels about budget traveling. But for people that don't care to spend the extra money then yeah Bangkok is a good option.

It's a very comfortable bus and surprisingly better than I tought it would be. There is no bathroom on the bus. But you do make several pit stops where they stop at a bathroom for you.

@@chanonmckay8766 I would love to know some of your cities that you would consider dollar-for-dollar a better deal for what you get in Danang?

Probably not many, hasn’t changed much in the last 5 years either.

@@ChanonMckay I would definitely love to find the equivalent to danang in the Philippines or even in Thailand. The problem is I can never find a city that has a beach, extremely cheap like Danang, has enough Western amenities, that's safe, and has the international airport. Danang has all of that. Where in Asia can you find the equivalent to a city that's well under $1000 ($700 for me most months) in Southeast Asia that has all those qualities?

@@Willtravelz how good is health care, hospital, etc. in vietnam?
@charlesmassaquoi67174 ай бұрын
You did not mentioned that its not free to enter Laos. You have to pay to enter Laos. Then you have to pay for your Vietnam visa. Then you have to pay for your bus transportation. Then you have to pay the Vietnam visa Agency for their service. All these just for a 3 month stay. Unbelieveable ! So you have to this every 3 months just to stay in Vietnam. If you want to stay there forever, then you have to do this border runs for the rest of your life just to stay in Vietnam. This doesn't make any sense to me. What a waste of precious time in your life. Good luck to you my friend 😂😂😂. Sorry, I will not do it.

I did mention this in the video. The total for everything is $130 which includes the bus run, the Vietnam and the Laos Visa. Not sure if you're aware but most Asian countries allow you 90 days or less Thailand is only 60 days or less. The only country that allows anything over 90 days is the Philippines. But the Philippines is much more expensive than Vietnam. So if you wanted to stay a year in Vietnam you would go on a total of four bus rides in a year. Costing no more than $600 for transportation and 4 visas a year. To live in the most affordable country in Southeast Asia especially when you consider the quality you get for the price. I would love to know a better option for visa and cost of living then Vietnam in your opinion?

Still didn't explain how to apply online and got approved in 4 hours? Bus agency have a special code? What about print out the approval letter? I normally fly to Thailand apply online wait 3 to 5 days approved, print out and go back to Vietnam. Cost air fare and 1 week hotel total under $250.00.
@Willtravelz17 күн бұрын
So if you go through the bus visa agency the visa is expedited. You don't have to wait outside of the country if doing the bus run. You get in the bus at 6 am you get to Laos around 1130 am. Your new Vietnam visa gets approved and you go back to the bus 12:30 pm ( about 1 hour later) and get back to da nang at 530 pm same day. All in cost $170. This option costs you less than the flight route you do a d gets you back the same day.
