as always, your tutorials are on another level from everyone else in the space - it's not even fair. The first half of this video was most useful to me - I mean, literally 2 clicks and my 70-minute video with 180+ clips suddenly looked TEN TIMES better. Took 3 seconds. This is for a video on my channel that's a DIY project - NOT something that needs gorgeous footage, just utilitarian and clear visuals to explain what's going on as I make a homebuilt vocal booth in my home music studio. So, these color tricks have already saved me literally days of effort, and I can get back to work on making music much sooner :)

I am a beginner in color grading and in Resolve as well. I do not aspire to be a "Hollywood colorist" - I only want to be able to properly manage my log clips from camera and deliver a "correct" output (look). For a couple of past weeks I have been browsing through various tutorials about basic color management and correction. When I am watching you work in Resolve everything suddenly becomes so "natural", simple and obvious. The way you explain things inspires and motivates me. You are a very talented teacher. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Best regards from Poland. Hubert

Just came back from watching the 1 hr stream, really really great stuff! So I was literally just trying to do some simple changes to a video (relatively new at davinci resolve), a small project I had but then ended up watching the 1 hour stream, I'm GMT +8 timezone actually and was about to go to sleep when the stream started, ended up watching up until around 12:10, great stuff, Im like a college freshman who has davinci resolve as a hobby and so didn't enter the master class haha but the video really helped me understand the color tab and the nodes. Idk why im writing this haha. Going to try making some cool effects in the color tab when i wake up mm.

I found this very useful. I have been able to do something very similar already, however this workflow is an improvement over what I have been using and I can see how it will help to save time in the future. It provides a more foundational basis for progressing from than I have been using so far. And I have gained more understanding into the way Resolve is intended to be used. Nice! Thx.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. You kept the process succinct and gave me the information I needed to understand the Basic Correction process. However I do have some confusion about the Input Colour Space and I'd appreciate a little help. I have a Panasonic GH5 and I shoot 4:2:2 Hybrid Log Gamma, simply because I refuse to pay the Panasonic Tax for a Log Profile. Could you please advise what setting I should select in the Input Colour Space? Is it something like Rec.2020? Cheers

Thanks for this tip Qazi! Have a question, do you by any means know what input color space to use in case of Nikon Z6 internal recording (using Flat profile with everything zeroed, other than saturation set at -3, which is what I use with the Leeming LUTs: until now, the only effective way to match the Z's internal recorded clips and N-log 10bit clips). Thank you!!

Hi Qazi. What about the Davinci Wide Gamut you were talking about in another video ? From what I understood, I would always go for this one because that gives me more room for grading, knowing that I can convert it in any other gamut at the end. Did I misunderstand ? Thanks.

Hey Waqas! I really enjoy your content man, keep it up! - do u have any experience in working with projects that both will be delivered to web, but also screened in the cinema? I often set my output to Rec709-A because I had good results when comparing my grade with the result. But I'm often being told that the post production house needs a file which was set to output in gamma 2.4 when they're making the DCP. So when I do change the output, the grade change drastically.

I got lost on step #3 What Color Input Space would you use for footage shot on a Canon M6 Mark II? I understand this camera doesn't natively have clog but there are some options to shoot with Cinestyle or MarvelCine profiles so I wonder if that is worth checking out. I saw that you can add clog3 to the camera some how. Any help would be appreciated.
