@@ToniHunterOne i think it is because Bob is notoriously a good story teller and genuinely has done some very bizarre activities in his life so it can be hard to discern what is fiction and what is stranger than lol. If that helps

All these panel comedy shows have the same family of members... I love it. W.i.l.t.y., Big fat Quiz, 8 out of 10 Cats. They genuinely have a blast making these shows.

I think the British comedy scene is such a community! it's amazing how many shows they have for comedians to work togetheeb vs the united states. I think it's really cool. As a Canadian and non comedian : )

I think Bob is so good at this game because he was a lawyer and he's read the rules very carefully and he knows how much lies he can get away with while sticking to the true bits of the story. Like the names of people. To this day I refuse to believe the reporters were called Caramel and Waffle!

The greatest crime on earth is the fact that there isn't an animated show about the day to day adventures of a young Bob Mortimer at his most whimsically random... and I say animated because for some reason, I feel very strongly that Bob should be a hedgehog.

It's funny to me how shocked they are about Bob as a young kid buying fireworks. The world was a different place 30, 40+ yrs ago. When I was a kid the corner market sold all kinds of fireworks and would sell them to anyone that had money. The world is too uptight today but has to be because there are more people totally lacking common sense. I prefer then to now. We had more fun.

In defense of Bob's mom leaving him home alone at age 7, in 1965 America it was pretty common for parents to leave us 'kids' alone at that age, with just instructions of what we were allowed to do, and what not to do, and WE OBEYED THEM. Unlike today, when all a misbehaving child gets is a time out to sit in the corner and think about what they did wrong, WE got beaten physically, as well as punished with loss of allowance, loss of privileges, as well as being grounded, so we were less likely to even THINK of doing something our parents told us not to do. As an example, if we ever even talked back to our parents (like today's kids tell their parents to 'talk to the hand',) we'd get not just a hard slap on the head, but our mouths washed out with soap. Never heard of that happening today, and we have all sorts of misbehaving children as a result.
@Widdekuu91

I am a Pedagogic Worker and it is a misconception that lack of physical beating is causing kids to act out, I can assure you. I don't know if I can sum up my 3 years of knowledge in relation to cognitive, social-emotional and physical behaviour (not to mention, I am currently on my phone instead of a laptop and my arm is cramping up since I carried a heavvy painting today) but if you're truly interested I can make an effort to explain it all to you.
@Lucifronz
@Lucifronz Жыл бұрын
@@Widdekuu91 I assumed this was a satirical comment. By defending their parent for leaving them home alone as an example of why it wasn't particularly bad parenting for the time, they then described being physically abused. "See? Our parents weren't bad back then just because they left us at home. We knew to be good or we'd be beaten within an inch of our lives."
@Widdekuu91
@Widdekuu91 Жыл бұрын
@@Lucifronz Right, I missed that part. I´ve spoken to so many people over the years that defend their parent´s behaviour out of dedication and love for their parents that not even the suggestion of `the love was real but the violence was wrong` is acceptable to them. I assumed that this was another one of those people.
