I'm overweight (and 16) and I think "fat acceptance" should not happen. I'm not saying people should be horrible or make fun of fat people, because that's fucked up. I'm saying that people should encourage and reason with people to loose weight, because its not healthy at all. I'm always trying to diet but I don't get any motivation. Ugh I wish I was like those teens who can eat anything and stay skinny ;-;
@ShelbyDevaud8 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, most teen women can't eat whatever they want and stay thin due to puberty. Genetics do play a huge role though, but honestly there is a pretty big cultural problem with 'dieting' and crash diets which can lead to a variety of eating disorders. For me, at 5'9" tall, I'm generally healthy between 120-135 lbs and I stay within that weight range regardless of what I eat simply due to genetics and where my natural set range is. If I eat 3000 calories a day, obviously I'll gain, but the as soon as I start eating what I require again, my weight drops back into that range. I've been much thinner than that, but my body did not want to be at that weight so even with very low calories, I'd still gain as my metabolism dropped severely to compensate. Would I say that I'm healthy? Nope. I probably eat the worst diet ever and rarely exercise on top of having a variety of health issues. My mother, who is around the same height as me but weighs 165-170 lbs is much more healthy than I am. Always exercising and eating the right foods. Point is, BMI and weight don't dictate health, but "fat acceptance" isn't the answer either.

Find an activity you love. Try longboarding, climbing, swimming or anything. If you start to love doing an activity then you can eat what you want maybe not all the time but if you take up an active hobby then the weight will drop off without you even knowing trust me you can do it
@LegionStriker8 жыл бұрын
There are no teens that can eat "anything" and stay slim. The idea of a "fast metabolism" is an old wivestale. People have different bodies, and some have legitimate health problems, but almost every fat person was born a normal human. The people you see eating a lot of food and staying healthy probably do a lot more exercise than you. Fat people only need to do one thing to lose weight: count calories. I'm sure you would surprise yourself if you measured how much food you actually ate per day. It's probably way too much. Whatever you get, shave 500 calories off of it and then adhere to that. Keep shaving down food consumption until you are within 1,500-2,250 per day (depends on height) and you will eventually reach a normal weight.

TheWanderer 1800 TBH, if you're working out hard as hell, you shouldn't restrict yourself to a 2000 calorie diet. I know guys who have passed out trying to remIn on a calorie diet. One good thing to try is counting calories and burning more than you consume. If you are a healthy weight already, it should just make you more lean and remove annoying fat like face fat. For kickboxing I would do a lot of leg work, cardio, and core. I do jiu jitsu and boxing so skipping rope, speed bag, and a hefty dose of working on your footwork. I know this reply is a little late but just push yourself for as hard as you want to achieve your goal I always say! And let me know how the kickboxing goes tomorrow!

Look, I'm a fat guy who doesn't want to be fat anymore, I got tired of ignoring the problem, I got tired of looking at that big gut in the mirror, that fucking double chin I had, I knew I could not tolerate living like that, so what did I do? Well I can tell you, I sure as hell didn't invent some bullshit fat acceptance ideology that would both excuse and reinforce my fatness so I wouldn't have to actually take responsibility for my own fatness, what I did was admit the truth: I was fat cause I ate too much, went out too little, and had low self-esteem. With that self-realization came the determination and motivation to turn it around, and I started to exercise and fight my innate laziness. A month later, and now I feel better than ever, cause even though I'm not where I want to be yet( Thinner and healthier) it doesn't bother me, as I take comfort and pride in the fact that I'm doing something about it. What's your excuse, fat acceptance people?

It is hard, and a lot of fat people like me are scared of all that hard work cause once you have been fat for most of your life, like me, you get lazy. Fight the laziness, and get shit done. that's how life works. I had to create the habit of discipline in my life, I did this, and now I can apply that discipline to other parts of my life. Fat folks, trust me, I'm fat(not for long) and I can tell you that once you really commit to the path of self-improvement, it will positively affect just about every other aspect of your life, you will wake up smiling, you will learn to actually enjoy working out to the point you find yourself laughing out the sheer joy and pride once you start to notice the difference, like I have begun to. That feeling was worth hard work, as are all noble causes

@ToshAroundMac8 жыл бұрын
For biological and cultural reasons, women are more likely than men to demand their surroundings be changed to fit their needs. The ''fat acceptance'' is just the fringe extreme narcissism/denial of this behavior, and the further in the fringe extreme you go, the larger the gender imbalance. So you will find very few men so narcissist that they assert their morbid obesity is not their problem, it is society that must change everything to accomodate their extremely unhealthy lifestyle, at everyone else's expense. (For the same reason the fringe best mathematicians and the fringe most violent criminals are overwhelmingly male.) Keep in mind that most obese men and women do not support the ''fat acceptance'' denial of reality. They know their weight is unhealthy. (Most just don't have the motivation to change their lifestyle.)

What is this "assumption" with fat being unhealthy? That's a fact. You are not meant to be that large. That's not normal. You can love your body all you want, but love it while you're in the process of bettering it. Exercise is healthy, we all know that. When one exercises, they lose weight. They build healthy muscle. Their mental and physical health improve. So, why are they mad that the assumption is that they are unhealthy? They aren't. Yes, there are thin people out there that are probably even less healthy than these people, but that doesn't mean that them being that large is okay. I don't agree with shaming them, but they're in denial if they can't see why someone would ask them if they exercise.

Dieting and working out constantly. I never prived my self of eating what i like. But i managed to eat clean 90% of the time. Once i had finished a clean eating week i would reward my self with some real good food once or twice a week. The key is discipline and hard work, theres no magic or secret formula if you want to do it naturally. It takes a lot of time but the results will come for sure. PS: One good advice: Try always to avoid SODA and Fast Food. The more natural you eat, the more healthy and lean you will be.

PgMergener I agree. I think these people have just given up. Sure accept being fat and move on from there. No pun intended. It's the bullying and shaming that needs to stop. Not your will to live. If they have medical bills due to being fat, then sorry you're not healthy. And damn straight you have to buy an extra seat. You're taking up more space.
@gunrunner82178 жыл бұрын
@PgMergener I am like you I was obese during my younger years 20's and 30's getting as heavy as 340#, I was active and could get around with the best of them. I did lose the weight I got down to 185#, I am in my 50's now and have some medical issues that are being caused by how I was then, these people are not understanding that it is not what it is doing to you now but rather what effects will it have on you in 10 or even 20 years time

Ik Willem and she swims 2.5 kilometers a day. Lol. That is like 25 laps in an olympic sized pool lol. Fastest time ever recorded is like 2 minutes. Figure in her shape she takes 4. So she spends 2 hours a day swimming and looks like that. Miracle of modern science. Lol.

There are different levels of fat. If you can not fit through a doorway, you need help. If you have a large pocket of fat under your face and thighs bigger than your head doubled, it is most likely true that you need to lose weight. Most people just don't want you to die.
@Lucky8s7 жыл бұрын
skyport13 That doorway measurement is a bit of an extreme. I'd say, if someone is struggling to walk because of their weight, they're too fat.

Theres nothing wrong with being a large woman. If you men don't like this then you can fuck off. Nothing wrong with being fat and I love it so if you don't then I don't need you. Men are just horrible and degrading. I can be any shape and I am beautiful.

@@orangeregeneration1028 That's quite a generalized statement, don't you think? I know for a fact that not ALL men find overweight women unattractive, but it all really just comes down to your preference. You wouldn't reprimand a gay man for liking men and not women because he just prefers it, it's the same here

Leonardo Oliveira Did you not read my last two comments? Clearly you don't wear makeup bc if you did you would know that people don't wear makeup for others. We wear it because it looks nice and we like to experiment - some people have really bad acne so they apply foundation so they feel more confident within themselves. That doesn't make them deserve or even have acceptance less than any other person on this planet.
