I own and played with it for almost a month, everything you've said was spot on. Thanks for the confirmation with your review 😊

I’m a control player that wants access to power when needed. The Fat Boy is my perfect paddle because I weighted it for my preferences. Mine is a Power Fatty. I put 4.5g across the top and 3 grams on the lower corners. Makes the sweet spot bigger and the drives a lot more powerful. I did a tournament this weekend and got 2nd place. My team went 7-0 going into the finals. Power Fatty all day!

This is one of my favorite Kevlar/aramid paddles of the year as well. Nice work with the vid! 💪

I play with Friday paddle, but I want for xmas Fatboy or shotgun.. not sure which one

hard choice! I'd say if you want more power go for the shogun, if you want a bit more control go for the fatboy. A lot also really comes down to preference, feel, and you're playstyle. Both have a very unique feel to them but the shape defintely changes a lot. If you're looking to be more aggressive go shogun, more control oriented fatboy. Good luck!

Try adding some led to get more plow through. Your drives really look weak on your footage 😉

Drives on this paddle are so slow. I have one and it mainly shines in kitchen battles.

One thing that’s super frustrating to me is how quickly paddles break down and look like garbage after a month or so. I play 2-3 times a week, but play hard. Played college tennis and I’m always scrambling and digging out every ball I can. And even with edge guard tape, electrical tape, etc. my paddle constantly is hitting the ground and a lot of times the frame starts to separate from the face…..My group doesn’t bust out a new ball every game and we play outside at a nice tennis facility….but there is always small bits of debri getting into the ball and as a result leaves these scratches all over the place on the paddle face. So all this being said, there is no way you’ve been playing with that paddle for 4 months! It looks brand new! And I’m not trying to knock you, because I see photos all the time of peoples paddles and I don’t understand how they look barely used….lol but you do provide good info in your review that adds value to consumers…..

The shogun is also a great choice or at least worth trying out if you can, I did a full review on it already but it defintely hits a bit harder but is a bit more difficult to control. Still soft feeling though, the polyester gives it a very interesting feel, but its a fun paddle! Ill be doing a review on the j2k soon too. It's also a great paddle, Id say plays more similar to the ruby then anything but if I had to say any paddle out there is a hybrid version of the fatboy itd be high on the highest. Not a ton of plow through on drives but solid resets though. The prism flash is like the control version of both, even less power and pop but really plush feel to it. All good choices though!
