Fat Chance Yo Eddy 1991 : Dream build Part 1

This for me - the Fat Chance Yo Eddy was the one that was nothing more than a dream. Surely never to be a reality. When the Yo Eddy first caught my attention in all it’s glory spread gloriously across the pages of MBUK it instantly became more than just something of a poster boy for early 90’s steel unicorn retro MTB …. It was almost fiction like….and in fact very rarely if ever seen in the wild in those days.
And now here one is. A 1991 Fat City Cycles, Team Fat Chance ‘Yo Eddy’ to give it its full title.
Finished in Grello and Blue. It’s been a labour of love and one I’ve tried harder than any other build to get just ….so 👌🏼

Looks amazing - I saw the other video too. Wondering if you have a spec sheet that would contain data like spindle length, bearing size and sourcing along with rear cassette info etc. Strving to build up a Yo Eddy medium and it would be very helpful. Thanks!

That Flite saddle is a reissue. Not one from the 90s.

Same comment as you put on my other video - so for the viewers I’ll share the same response…. There are way more reissue /non 1990/91 parts to this (and many) builds. Allow me to help you and other viewers spot them all: The paint. The decals. The brake and gear cables The brake and gear outers. The ODI attack grips The Phil wood Bottom bracket The Syncros stem and bars are refurbed with reproduction decals…. The spokes and nipples, the chain….all circa 2020/21. Scrutineers welcome, just be really good at it 👍🏼
