Hi FYI, I was watching your video listening to your comments you said, "your Balsa plane was nose-heavy" reminded me of my first girlfriend. I left her for a tail heavy woman... I tend to like planes that have a lot of junk in their trunk.

I just finished my Value Hobby Tiger 76”. Power is a DLE 20cc rear exhaust. I had to add 16oz on the nose to get the CG correct.

lol ; I had a .60 size VK Cherokee 'many yrs. ago' that I had to add an epoxy and 'lead shot' mix in the nose, to get it CG'd. Couldn't believe how tail heavy it was, but it did have a rather large, built up empennage :-) ... nice job, great flight !

As Jack says, any way you can lighten up the tail a bit? Another thing you could easily do is to move the motor forward with a bit of packing, maybe half an inch or even more? Bigger wheels would help slightly as well. Anyway great maiden and what a gorgeous day 🙂

Back in the day ARTF we the best you could get...but like you i uave not flown a balsa in 15 years..i love the Foam...lol.. Having said that I have a balsa kit coming from Banggood...should be fun...

Well its important to try to keep this side of the rc planes hobby going also even though the price of this type of wood is sky rocketing. That's one of the main reasons the woodies are dying. Foam planes come from a variety of materials most of which are recyclables. The other reason Foam planes are cheap to mass produce and they yield a high profit margin.

Great video. I also just started getting ARF kits. Value hobby has a great easy stick 40, I went to the dark side and put a saito 56 4 stroke on it. Happy flying and I’m loving the ARF kits

The original might have had an ic engine and tank up front ....hence all the extra weight you had to add.

If i were you i would have added a couple more ounces to to nose after your first landing using double sided tape..i bet it would have flown way better..

It was 2200kv motor but this was several years ago, i have long since given the plane away.
