Jay killed this on so many levels. So many clever metaphors that these youngins' can't even fathom! That elevator line was a triple metaphor: a line from Prince's song "Let's go crazy"; the fact he was found dead in the elevator; and the "scuffle" at the Met Gala between Hov and Solange.

For those Jay-Z isn't one of our greatest song writers . . . In one verse, he managed to address, acknowledge, and silence every thing all haters, critics, and nosey ass people have been talking since his last album. I'm a HUGE Jay-Z fan, but there's verses of his where I just brushed it off, only to hear later, when I've learned the actual meaning/meanings. He went IN on this one! As did everyone except French Montana. Hov is MEAN with double or triple entendres, the best ever when it comes to those, in my humble opinion!

" see i don't wanna hear about ya records and big numbers cause I was up top 7 winters and 6 summers, cuffed, all on that bus, lock me all the way down.. now i'm ^^^^!" Remy's verse has got me so excited for Plata O Plomo. Reading through comments people keep mentioning Nicki / making comparisons but at the end of the day both represent VERY different things. Remy is a high caliber of lyricism and flow, authentic and represents a RETURN of old school hip hop - to me she actually sits with greats like Mia X, Latifah, La Chat, Roxanne Shante etcc. People mentioning don't wake up 'Roman' and all this stuff - Nicki's creativity and mass appeal are really not relevant. Bars over bullshit but most people idolize bullshit in this era - wanna make comparisons? listen to Nicki's Monster verse and Remy's first song 'Ms Remy' with Big Pun.. Remy is that chick and there's no denying it. I'm around for sick bars and delivery and Rem has consistently delivered those throughout her career - she's a threat to the females & men, I look forward to her lyrical annihilation .

this what I want to happen. I want Nicki to bring her out on stage like she did foxy. then I want Remy to kick a freestyle type battle rap dissing the shit out her. then i want Remy to ask her what u got for me since u the so-call queen. and u know Nicki will say some bullshit like I'm not going to play that game blah blah. if that ever happens then Nicki career is over
@darealundadawgg78478 жыл бұрын
Jay Jasper well I don't think real heads consider Niki a real m.c. anyway.I know I don't.
@victoriat75378 жыл бұрын
Jay Jasper It would be cool to see but that's not beneficial for either of them. I feel like beef doesn't even benefit female rappers anymore, it gets a little bit of buzz but nowhere near as much as the male mcs. On the topic of Nicki bringing out Foxy to a low fi crappy gig (once!) - I saw it as disrespect. IF she really respected Fox she would've featured her on a song. Nicki likes to do the whole repping Trini thing but Foxy (along with Patra and Lady Saw) is the originator of that, the ILL NANA! But so many artistis these days just see an attitude, a style which is authentic and replicate it which is reductive. I think Remy and Nicki on a track together would be epic because Nicki is undeniably talented in a pop-rap / catchy kind of way and Remy is talented in a all time great MC kinda way. One thing with Nicki is when I hear her i.e. Shanghai or Chiraq , I just don't buy it. The bars don't come from a place of meaning or depth and her delivery is just like subpar. Remy however has that exact flavour and lyrical ability which I know Nicki is hungry for (so she doesn't have to feel like a complete sell out) and Rem could benefit from such a global platform. Hopefully this album with Joe will be hugely successful but his platform isn't as mainstream as Nicki's BUT 'lean back' was such a huge hit that there is a possibility of it blowing up. Sorry for my rant and tangents haha.

Music like this takes me back to what hip hop is really about, f***ing love this shit. I stopped listening to hip hop for a minute now cause it's just not the same. So happy that Remy Ma is the female that is bringing real hip hop back. But they want to stop her or any other female because they treat us like puppets (every last one of us) they want us to listen to what they want us to. They molded Nicki to be who they wanted her to be, "a plastic doll" (fake, multiple personalities) and we accepted it because that's all we know, that's what they show on tv, on the radios etc. People please remember that we as fans, we get them to the position that they are in, with views, record sales, concerts etc. When I grew up with hip hop, there were multiple females in the game and we kinda had a liking for all of them or liked the entertainment from the battles. Please tell me why in 2017 we only have one (the same for multiple years now) female on top off the Music Industry in hip hop? It's foul. Stop hating!! Are you dumb??? Nicki took a BIG "L" and lets not forget that. I don't care about record sales and numbers, it's the music, and how it connects with me.............. Just my humble opinion

+Lungshot420 why is it trash?
@Lungshot4208 жыл бұрын
+Clayton Jones you got this dude on the track off beat. Explain why was it hot. Because he said some subliminal messages. Jay could've done better than that.
@ClaytonJonesImages8 жыл бұрын
+Lungshot420 I listened and re-listened, and he hit the bars properly. I don't like the verse because it has subliminal messages. I like the overall message.

Basic niggas don't catch next-level shit. Their ears been trained to except every line at face value. These niggas don't know nothing bout double, triple and quadruple entendres.

Looooool u giv me jokes....granted he is lyrical.......in my opinion.... He just has nothing interesting to say.... Content wise....
