Learning how to climb steep hills on the Fat Tads takes practice. There's plenty of torque but not enough traction in the loose gravel. They will roll over if you don't keep them pointing straight up the hill. It's fall. The temperature drops quickly now when the autumn sun sets.

Wow, that was really steep for gravel. Pretty impressive that you made it up. Thanks for the vid.😀

Really enjoyed being on your ride! Your detail narratives are excellent and add so much! Sure do wish that your windsocks were the normal flags on recumbents! Best visibility in daylight, AND ALSO the greatest lit-up visual safety effect when riding at night! No other safety/visibility flags even come close!!!

What size battery and voltage are you using (36v or 48v)? How many watts is the rear hub motor? The reason I ask is I have been researching recumbent e-trikes and I need the e-assist due to my disability. The Fat Tad trike is one of the most reasonably priced ones.

Motor is rated at 500w. The battery is 20AH, 48 volts. Fully charged 54 volts, the motor can draw 20 amps. That's over 1000 watts input peak. I don't know what the actual motor output is.

@@rowtator6543 Simpler in europe. Had a 250W motor with a 250W battery, so 1 hour of 100% assist. In practice though you would get 2 hours on a circular route as over 15mph half the time giving 30 miles range. Seting the power to 40% max power would double the range

I don’t believe your hill was to step but that was really deep lose stones that caused you to spin

The city piles on the crushed Granite stone on the trails to keep the soil from washing away. It never packs down solid like a good grade 5 gravel.

Well that is at least an honest description of how useless the rear traction is on loose gravel . I was hoping for a real trike not an E trike .

Head up a steep hill in grany gear with no e assist. The trike will roll over long before it looses traction if not centered going up. Plenty of weight over the back wheel.
