Yo it’s crazy to me to think that back in 2009/2010, our Indy label was talking to Big Cat, Alleyboy, ZayToven and honorable cnote, 1017 and had a link to J Prince. I ended up walking away due to my son’s special needs and honestly looking back, so many of the people around are dead, junkies or locked up right now fr. Just started back making music 8 months ago. Also when you think about the powerhouse Master P once was, around the time he bought out Snoop from Death Row and had No Limit really pumping, it’s really crazy to see the contrast between then and now. Master P had a moment in time where everything came together for him financially. Once he left the music industry he realized what a lot of Entertainers,athletes are forced to realize and that is that non of them are good businessmen. They are just good at what they do and endorsements and business deals literally fall in their laps. Once their careers are over all that goes away because they no longer have the influence they once did.

Rap snacks and just the most ordinary basic name and products he comes out with. Don't care about quality. He puts little to invest in something and counts on his name getting him a quick return then it runs dry and he moves on to the next janky move. Lol.

I'm 39, was a big P fan and remember when he was the man. Nobody was bigger than P at one point but it definitely was short lived in retrospect. And from watching interviews and hearing some recurring themes, it sounds like P was very aggressive and very demanding but didnt have much quality control. Plus i heard P can be a little too overbearing at times. Playing devils advocate though, it sounds like P probably felt like if he's giving you a salary every month and somewhere to stay that you should be satisfied and just roll with whatever he's got going since hes paying you. Like, he bought Snoop a house and a car as well as many other no limit artists. But if i was an artist I wouldnt want items, even if its a house. I want money, my percentage and my publishing. Much luv to P though because nobody's perfect. And almost every record executive has had disgruntled artist bad mouth them at some point.

It's possible that the people in funding had more faith in his music brand, and that was necessary to get the movie off. Maybe he should have communicated that. Maybe Alley Boy actually asked instead of going with the flow and then disappearing. Maybe knowing how his show money worked, Alley Boy looked at it as something to raise his profile and get him more shows. It's not incredibly difficult to say, "yo, what's the deal with the movie? I didn't plan on coming here for music. What's the move?". Or his man that was the business side ... that was right around the blog era where people were just starting to put out free music to fuel the shows and merch. Also, him putting you up in LA & paying you was likely more than the iTunes cut after it was split 3 ways. It wasn't one of those platinum No Limit albums from 98. You gotta outsell that monthly money you were getting before you get anything else.
@bohustleholic1594

This comment makes alot of sense frfr. iTunes money don't really be shit, like fractions of a penny per play, and thats split beyween artists and producers. So him putting you up AND paying you to stay there, all while giving you exposure I can almost bet would be worth way more than that iTunes money 💰.

The weird thing is, I’ve been in a few bad deals myself. But when a business man takes a no name artist, put him in a place to live, pays him a salary and free studio time, I beg to differ that that business man is wrong. I notice when this new gen of artist have nothing and an investor come along and gives them a opportunity, it’s all good because you had nothing. Soon as you get a bigger opportunity, that first deal was a cheat. But what about the small investments the business man made to get you to a place where a mogul like ric Ross can see you and hear you in a bigger lite. So you telling me that going to jail, doing dumb sh..t is a better deal than master p paying u a salary, your rent, and studio cost. I think signing with ric Ross gives you the false impression what P/business man was wasn’t good enough. In hollywood only 30 percent of movies get made. Those same producers that only talk about making movies don’t pay you a salary for 7 months to a year.

Now you can’t save an artist that’s still running the streets. That’s like throwing money in the strip club, at the end of the day, you get nothing from it, but a site for sore eyes.
