Another detailed video! Thank you so much. I was thinking of substituting butter with oil in the bread loaf that I am baking and opened up your channel and found this! You gave the conversion for fat to puree substitution in baked goods. How about subbing oil for butter - Can I sub weight to weight meaning that if my baking product calls for 14gms of butter, Can I replace it with 14gm of oil in the loaf? Thanks a lot!

The Bao recipe I have uses lard that is kneaded into a wet dough. Additional flour is added later. What would the substitute be for lard ?

Hehe hehe. Answer.....anything! Sorry I did not mean to be smart a#$. Try vegetable shortening. Look for zero transfat and 1/2 of the saturated fat of butter. (Crisco 😀) as an example. A bit healthier for sure and a nice vegetable alternative to animal fat.
