Great video, explanation and narration. This explains so many ufo sightings. Just compare it with ocean fata morganas of ships seemingly floating above the ocean 10 times larger and sometimes even flipped. Combined with our faulty perception and unreliable memory a fata morgana turns an ordinary weather ballon into a menacing ufo.

This effect can happen at sea aswell. It can create a false horizon making it look like ships on the horizon are floating in mid air. Or it can bend the horizon upwards and allow you to see further than normal
