I have noticed that some people have asked why the paramedics are not rendering aid to the victims while they are being extracted from the vehicle. My husband is a 20 year now retired fireman. It's because they can't reach the victims enough to render aid yet. Often they will try to climb into the vehicle in order to reach the victims, but if it's not safe they are NOT allowed to. That's why firemen are trained in medical aid. They can only do what they can do. Sometimes it's already too late. Sometimes they have too much of the vehicle on them to get to them. Example: a woman was pinned under the dash and steering wheel of her car and the door was pushed in on her by a pickup that ran the light speeding. There was no way to reach her until the firemen could cut enough of the car off of her. When he slammed into the driver's side of her car he pushed her door into her. Then her car into another car and that car was stuck against her other door. The driver of the other car was also trapped because his car was shoved into a street light pole. So, do you see how sometimes it's not possible to reach the victims enough to render aid yet. The woman who was pinned under her steering wheel survived with 3 broken ribs, a broken collar bone and a broken arm and foot. The man trapped in the other car survived with a broken shoulder and arm. The guy who ran the light speeding only had a busted lip and cracked ribs. He was drunk of course.

They blocked the view out of respect for the guy who died and the privacy of his family. The people who were featured on Red Asphalt had family sign off on it in hopes to educate student (15 year old) drivers. This instance would have been just to satisfy your/other random internet peoples morbid curiosity.

Much respect to the FD for pulling their vehicles to block the view of the public. That is someones family member and a tricky extrication such as this does not need filmed and aired to the world especially if next of kin has yet to be notified.

Yep. Another huge cause of wrecks are slow drivers in the left passing lane. Causes drivers to pass on right. Left lane is for passing. If you're not passing the cars on your right then get the hell out of left lane. Another big one is driver's not reading the signs on roadway and making wreckless multiple lane changes because they were going to miss exit because they weren't paying attention. Older drivers in Florida are horrible.

@@MrCheckitout123 from your evasive response... It looks like the private air ambulance industry is another growing industry thats ripe for tighter government regulation..... instead the worried population getting more insurance for something they likely won't ever need or use. Another solution looking for the high priced helicopter ride problem. Maybe S&R helicopters should transport patients and private air ambulances should rescue lost hikers.... you could sell insurance at the trail head...
