Your hits on average were landing between 70-120 on Fatalis. By comparison you were hitting Alatreon for 200-300 per hit. So while he only has about 14K more HP than the last boss his health pool will make it feel more like 150K. Its a very harsh DPS check and a good attempt can take 25-minutes and he can easily combo you to death in 2-3 hits no matter how good your gear is especially in the later phases. Yeah he wins using a pretty cheesy strat....mega healing with cat and healing smoker, paired with a high dmg hit and run weap with hyper armor. He doesn't listen to advice because his cheesy strat has ENABLED him and made him unduly cocky. With all that gear, healing, and the free faint his cat provides, he honestly shouldn't have truly fainted on tempered zinogre even once. Even running out of potions is no excuse considering all the healing tools at his disposal. He made 95 percent of the content look juvenile because his cheesy strat allowed him to ignore understanding even basic mechanics. TCS and heal heal heal...without those tools he'd lose badly to several monsters. Most accomplished hunters can win without vigorwasp, smoker, and with different weaps. But without those specific tools Asmon would have a hard time killing most monsters in MR. He's literally just healed through and TCS'd his way through any troubling encounters. Can't just hyper armor and overheal through Fatalis fire though, Fatty will still kill the unworthy. Actually kinda relieved to see Fatty spank him. He shouldn't be allowed to defeat fatty while ignoring basic mechanics. He still needs to challenge arch tempered Velk as well. He has trouble when his healing spam can't save him fast enough.

For me the main Difference between Fatalis and Alatreon is, that the Timer on Fatalis is much tighter compared to the Alatreon fight. The Damage windows are shorter and you have to play way more optimal to get him down just in time.
@KendooXD3 ай бұрын
Alatreon having a long timer of 50 mins is also just an illusion, you actually dont have 50 mins to beat Alatrean, since at some point even when breaking all his horns, he will get to a point where he will still switch elements, and he does his Escaton Judgement every 7-8mins, so technically you only got about 28 mins or so until his ultimate will just wipe you regardless.
@frozznsky3 ай бұрын

"60k isn't that bad" What? Fatalis has bad hitzones on the "safe spots" like the legs and generally moves alot more with the parts that have good hitzones. Add to that the 30 min timer and 60k is suddenly alot more then "not that bad". Honestly with that mindeset, lack of proper preparation and his playstyle I don't see him beating Fatalis anytime soon.

There is a big different between backseating and advice if you don't know, for example, you can block fire cone attack and you have to remove mantle or it won't cooled down, or maybe, try to use fireproof mantle to reduce that ridiculous fire damage, that's the advice. Backseating is something like, you have to change your weapon bc it too slow or you have to do that one specific move to hit it bc speedrunner does that, or you have to clutch claw bc I saw speedrunner does that or it won't work. And from my experience, people that backseating are most likely never have a friend to interact with when playing the game or never play the game but watch a really good player instead and tell people what to do.

Month 2, Still praying for the return to Fatalis fight 🙏
@reach7698 ай бұрын
Fatalis is one of the most memorable and most satisfying fights to learn. He is so fun to fight alone and with a group. He really feels like a top 10 boss across all games of all genres. Every time I fight him and lose I always know it’s my fault. It’s never bullshit and that’s what makes it so good.
@aizero-ih3uy8 ай бұрын
1 thing i found as a saving grace for fatalis is the fact that we can use farcaster to run and resupply as a resource dump while learning how to fight it
@aidenwrath14028 ай бұрын
Funny thing about Fatalis is that the quest itself, along with Fatalis himself but in a different way, actually gets harder lmao. Going past Phase 1 means no more A-Lister to help you out in the future and clearing the quest drops your future death counts from 5 to 3, kinda indirectly punishing you for success lmao

@@thecrypticstench Welp, hes at least considering not going for tcs anymore. I find GS boring and only use it for jumping build against Kirin in coral highlands, so i dont know if crit draw GS is even enough for Fatalis. Doesnt look like it

@@Dargoneth tcs is enough, one of the fastest speed runs of fatty is darkside (I think) using at velk set with fatty gs, mainly slinger to tcs. Something like 6 minutes, it’s def viable. @princekanbatsu23018 ай бұрын
Fatalis is arguibly the hardest boss in the game, expecially some matchups are god damn hard because he doesn't have a lot of openings for heavy weapons, and on top of that, differently from Alatreon, Fatalis has a semi random AI like most of the roster in IB which means he is gonna "plan" his next attack based on the distance between you and him, and that's about it. Alatreon on the other hand is one of the few monsters to have a pattern based AI so you can, after a bunch of tries, tell what he is about to do, which makes it much easier for heavy weapons compared to Fatalis, considering how fast they link one attack to another. Idk much about greatsword, but fighting him with charge blade was ass, you basically need to go savage axe with evade extender, evade window and hope he doesn't spam the claw attacks lol

1:28:35 I know you wanna just play how you want and I don’t mean to encroach on that but I think you have a bit of confusion about guiding lands and augmenting. It wouldn’t take 2 weeks or even 1 week. It actually would only take 2-3 days to get the mats for the augments you want if you’re really going for it, and that would even drop to just 2-3 hours if you only wanted to augment your armor for maximum defense and completely forego the health regen on your weapon. Its the weapon augments that make it take so long but once you’ve done 1 weapon, weapon augments are reusable you can take the augment out and throw it in another weapon as many times as you want if you want to. Hope this helps

I think the feeling that Alatreon is more difficult than Fatalis (not really) is because before facing him, we already defeated Alatreon, which was not the same with Alatreon, since before this we faced Furious Rajang/Raging Brachy. And that is a BIG difference of preparation imo.
