Thing is, Captain Falcon is a pseudo-grappler of sorts, and Incinaroar is capable of the occasional combo. They were like-minded characters, which meant it was a matter of skill, and BOY are both players skilled, and BOY was it close. If both characters are capable of killing their opponent very quickly, than the result is back to back stocks, and that's what we got, and it was fun as hell to watch.

We put Fatality on this big pedestal, but I believe the opponents are usually at fault for not being familiar with the speed of his falcon. In this case, he had a lead, but there was an upset. Skyjay really wanted it. Look at him pop off. That's pride. He worked hard for that win.

As an Incineroar main myself, this matchup has always felt like it has the most potential for pure destruction. Both sides are absolutely swinging at each other, and can have some BRUTAL combo trees, though Incineroar's pure power makes up for the detailed strings that Falcon can pull out. Both sides can just destroy the other, and it's so nice to see it performed at a top level.

Incineroar is so close to being the best designed super heavyweight in any smash game. He has amazing kill power, combos, and most importantly, frame data, and his recovery while not spectacular is very complex which makes it easier to mix up than say bowser or K rool despite overall having a worse recovery. For weaknesses he lacks range and mobility, If they just increased it a little bit to be around link, or maybe give him luigi's air mobility, I'm sure he'd be a perfectly balanced superheavyweight.

Got me thinking about ideas to make Incineroar's recovery better. You could have the Up-B in the air preserve horizontal momentum before the move, and also allow players to cancel the move before the dive without going into special-fall. But you can't use the move again until you land.

I'm stating character specialists, Zackray plays wolf, wario, joker, sora, etc. For a time regarded as the best of that one character. Many of those you mentioned plays others. Mkleo is here because he was considered as the best Ike, the best Joker, and the best Byleth. Spargo's P&M would be here if he was considered as the best, but he's not. He may be a top tier player, but no one calls him out as the obvious best P&W. Tea isn't the best Kazuya and he's not the best Mewtwo. He's only labeled as the best Pacman and only Pacman. Wadi is still considered as the best Mewtwo and Riddles is hands-down uncontested best Kazuya. Mkleo dropped Ike, but I still mentioned him.

I noticed that about Fatality. His signature attitude when frustrated is to be "faster more aggressive" which makes him predictable. If you notice Fatality slows down at the start of the set. Lots of pausing before he makes a move like a chess player. But once Skyjay found counters to several of Fat's approaches he was getting more frantic. Don't get me wrong my mentor and teacher is a CF main and he taught me how to pressure a fast combo heavy character by limiting his options and making him think he needs to play the white part of a chess board rather stay on the black side where they started. Just like in chess, you can't switch sides at whim. You need to play your side and to your strengths.

i see people setup these crazy combos but can't you just air dodge out of them? I know any time I go for similar (no where near as good) of combos they always get interrupted by air dodging.

some of the combos are true meaning that the opponent is in hit stun long enough for the second moves to hit before an air dodge can get off. Many ture combos require specific timing or they won't be true, you may be missing the timing. IDJ is useful for falcon to make more things true, I believe some of these were IDJ confirms (instant double jump). Furthermore, some combos are frame traps, meaning that even if the opponent dodges they are in lag and get hit anyway. finally, some characters have faster or slower startup on air dodge. So something frame perfect on one character might miss entirely on another. Sometimes people don't air dodge at high level because the air dodge frame trap or read punish is way worse than eating the combo.
