Oh yes, i was born in 94, so when this came out, i was like 5-6 yo. I discovered this song while playing Fifa 99 (or 98...). But strangely enough, i'm the only one who knows this song among people of my age that i know (I was born in the 90's Russia and live in France since i'm 7-8 yo). Same for Bomfunk MC's Freestyler song. Guess it depends where you live...

I remember when I was 13, I was staying in a hotel room with my parents. It was about 2am, I was hyper, my dad was drunk and my mum was trying to get to sleep and we turned on the TV to the music channel and this started playing. @FanxB9 жыл бұрын
TehKhan ofLeWorld Yea, funny but true. Norman got clearance to use all the music he sampled, and as there were so many he ended up paying 100% of the royalties out and got nothing himself - apart from the satisfaction of making great music, and making money for other musicians that wouldn't have earned these royalties otherwise.

TehKhan ofLeWorld higherfrequency.wordpress.com/2007/05/07/fatboy-slim-interview-may-2006/ It's an interview ... Q & A excerpt ... no royalties paid for it though ;) Q : Thinking of “Bird of Prey” and other Fatboy Slim classics, you use a lot of high profile samples. Tell me about what’s involved in getting clearance. A : Lawyers. Two lots of lawyers, our lawyers and the person’s you sampled lawyers, and nowadays there’re lawyers who simply deal with samples. So you just have to come with an arrangement with the person you’re going to sample - sometimes it’s expensive, sometimes it’s not. It’s a necessary thing for what I do. Sometimes the record company would say to me “Why don’t you just pay it yourself? It would be so much cheaper” So I would say “Yeah, but it wouldn’t be so much fun” Q : What’s the most you’ve had to pay for a sample? A : 100%. Royalty for the entire song. If there was more than a 100%, I probably would have paid that. Q : Can we ask which song? A : Well it’s normally when there’s more than one sample. When you have to split it between say ‘The Rockafeller Skank’ there was four different samples on it we had to clear, and they all wanted 40%, or 50%, and we were like “Hold On, there’s only like 100% that’s available”. So we were like, “you can all have 25%”, and there was none left for me.

On a side, i'd say: "he can afford it, so these news are not astonishing at all, nor nothing to applaude to", but on the other i'd say that he probably isn't a greedy person at all, that he is probably good hearted and that the success and the gain from all the other tracks or so are a result of good karma. Notice that 1)i don't know shit about the guy's bio, even if i could quickly check Wikipedia, or order a book to a store owned by a couple of friends that can find many particuluar books, including artists'bio, but i won't, at least not in this moment, 'cos i don't particularly care about and 2)i'm not his biggest fan on earth. But i've got kinda sixth sense on folks and things that (i'm saying this without being a superb asshole) 9 times on 10 proofs itself to be right. Maybe, this is the one time on ten, when my sixth sense fails, but i ever had an impression that Fatboy Slim is a good guy. And for sure he rocks and kicks asses!

I am in love with 90's once again. I think 2022 changed me and I started to create my own 90's music playlist with the coolest music mix getting high of music. I became my own DJ at home in needs for lifting my soul. Rise above the world madness.Thank you for the reminder of good times, dancing bubbles of light🥰Big love from Denmark.❤🙏🙌😀

This is an example of a simple song with a great beat that will just keep going. I'm more of a 70s and 80s kid but this song was cool when it came out I remember the clubs playing this. Are there still clubs around or does everybody just stay home now on their phones?

I was about 10 years old, playing air hockey with my youngest brother. This song was playing from the air hockey machine. I didn't lose a single game that day mostly because I was vibin to this track so much. Still one of my favorite memories as a kid. Playing air hockey carefree with my brother near the beach grooving to Fatboy slim

1990s music never gets old and it will always be a timeless classic. Along with the 1980s and the 2000s, the 1990s is one of my favourite decades for music all time. I am listening to it from Ireland 🇮🇪
