@@Dragonage2ftw I think it's how Gil criticized Gawain's blind loyalty to the King. Too loyal to the fact that even during the 6th Singularity in FGO Gawain was ready to slaughter innocent lives - men, women, children without a single thought or mercy and even doesn't hesitate to kill his own brethren, the Knights he fought along side with during his lifetime just because his King (Artoria) ordered him to. Pike him or hate him, Gil does spit out straight points. He is right about how Gawain seeing Artoria as a savior, a righteous person, a saint and not as a simple human is so wrong. @@empyreanpenguin1278 Gilgamesh of all people shouldn't be calling Gawain out for his way of life. Though Arthur's inner pain was true, Gawain was entitled to live the way he wanted, which was to be Arthur's sword and serve him loyally. Personal matters were not his role as a knight. Gilgamesh on the other hand was a king and held all the responsibility but yet chose to spend his early years as a tyrant. Arthur's perfection only became a noteworthy flaw due to the plotting of Morgan le Fay, had she not sought out to destroy Arthur's kingdom, it would have most likely lasted forever in eternal peace, as no outsiders could ever hope to touch it, and misunderstandings alone aren't enough to spark a rebellion. Gilgamesh was far from perfect and Gawain checkmated him with that. Gilgamesh tried to trigger Gawain by insulting his king's ways, but instead Gawain pointed out the selfishness in Gilgamesh's rule, in which Gilgamesh acknowledges himself that he cannot deny his own flaws, which demonstrates how pointless their discussion was. It was basically this, Gilgamesh: "You just blindly do whatever your king wants!" Gawain: "Well yeah, I'm a knight, I chose that path." Gilgamesh: "Oh shit yeah, ah well, what about your king? Bet he was flawed but didn't show it." Gawain: "Stfu, you were shittier than my king ever could've been." Gilgamesh: "...you people will never understand what it is to be a king!" *enters spirit form like a bitch.* Jokes aside, they're both awesome, but Gilgamesh never won this like you imply. They both don't approve of one another's ways, it's as simple as that. Yes, Gawain's blind loyalty never helped his King, but Gilgamesh is a hypocrite to call out anyone else on their own flaws.

@@mitchellbaran7917 Wrong. The Lion King is different to Artoria, as her personality changed as a result of becoming a Divine Spirit. Normal Artoria's rule would have never ended up that way. And besides, though Lion King has lost much value in individuals, her method of saving humanity via storing the souls of good people so that they can survive the end of the world is arguably not a bad thing. Free will is no longer there but at least you have hope for a potential future. If the world ends and you physically exist for it, there's no hope left, you're just dead. @brucewayne85503 жыл бұрын
@@mrdapperness1199 The Fall of Camelot and the Battle of Camlann was in no fault of Gawain nor Artoria's. Camelot was always destined to collapse regardless of whatever anyone tried to do to stop it. Artoria managed to bring peace and prosperity for a relative period of time of 10 years that extended Britain's waning Age of Gods far beyond its expected life span. But not everything was perfect. Artoria managed to create a working government and united the warring Lords under her banner and created Camelot which not even her father managed to achieve in his lifetime, yes. However, while Artoria did strive to be the perfect King, the downfall of Camelot was pre-determined and the fact that the perfect King could not be understood and was not wanted by its imperfect people. The Lords she had united under her banner did not like her being King and sought to undermine her authority since they believed they were the rightful rulers, but since she managed to show results, they followed her lead. The land was infertile and famine was common and there was nothing she could rightly do about it. They faced many invaders from the Anglo-Saxon who also were just seeking a home to call their own which Artoria didn't begrudge them for but for the war effort, she had to cannibalize her own villages for resources to further fund her army which lead people from those villages to call her a tyrant, but those who were merely looking on from other villages called her a sort of savior or war god. Suffice to say that Camelot had a host of problems beyond "The King was bad" is quite the understatement. Particularly, the Battle of Camlann was not Gawain's fault. He believes it was his fault because he turned away Lancelot who showed up to help, due to his grudge of Lancelot having killed his siblings Gareth, Gaheris and Agravain during his saving of Guinevere during her execution. The Battle of Camlann was a lot of successful maneuvering of Morgan and Mordred, who managed to win over a bunch of the corrupt Lords during Artoria's absence when she was away fighting the Romans, so even if Gawain had put aside his grudge, the outcome would not have changed. The Battle of Camlann would have still happened, just most likely with a different winner and Camelot would have still collapsed after regardless of who won that fated battle on the hill.

Gilgamesh says it's natural for a servant to betray their master if they walk different paths and it shouldn't be considered a betrayal at all. But isn't it technically a betrayal because the servant doesn't outright say I won't work with you but rather hides her intentions and acts upon them whenever they like? They should consult each other or just make their intentions clear from the start so the other will be warned and ready. Also I don't get how not being ok with servant betraying their master leads to serving an overly righteous king. A king should ensure the peacefulness of their subjects after all, just like how there are a set of laws that govern every country which have to be abided. And since it was betrayal, it should lead to punishment from the king to uphold the law.

I think the point being made was less on how "not being okay with the servant betraying their master leads to serving an overly righteous king", but more on criticizing Gawain's ideology. Gilgamesh doesn't like Gawain's servitude mindset because of how extreme he is with it, as it shows: Gawain is idolizes the king to the point where he forgets the king himself is human. And because the king is human, he's not always perfect in trying to curate peace, he'll make mistakes. But Gawain denies the king will ever make a mistake, instead blaming himself. Gilgamesh more or less just points this out, in an overly critical manner.
@ousamadearudesuwa5 жыл бұрын
Gilgamesh criticizes too much of everything. He disliked Artoria, not Proto Arthur, for pretty much becoming a system that destroys themselves before they even died. He(Gil) views the fact that kings are still mere mortals that will never be perfect and Gawain, being the zealot, serves blindly on such ideals that can lead to seeing their kingdoms to ruin far earlier than the King of Conquerors. A servant is not to blindly follow their masters, especially if they go beyond the line. They are not machines as they are also records of the past and reflects who they really are, which Gilgamesh knows and acts properly. Betrayals only happen when you or the other have suddenly split paths once they almost reached their goal. In fact Lancer just Backstabbed her master before even achieving a clear goal or path that they agreed upon.
