Well to be fair, in Heaven Feel's route, Salter is Saber but corrupted by the Grail's ooze via Sakura. She the incarnation of all of Saber's dark feelings and inner feelings that she hides from the Fate Route but intensified tenfold. Difference between Fate and HF is that in Fate, thanks to Shirou, Saber is able to let all of that go and accept herself for who she was in history. FGO's Salter is a manifestation of a singularity in which the Grail summoned a dark version of Saber, still corrupted, but her morals and kingship are still intact.

@@lonelywolf140 Pretty late but Saber Alter is rather different from her “Alter” peers. Jeanne D’Arc Alter and Cu Chulainn Alter are the products of wishes on a Holy Grail, while Okita Alter and Emiya Alter are from alternate timelines. Artoria Alter is still Artoria, or rather another side of her. She’s still the King of Knights who will fight for her nation, who will protect her people and make sure no harm comes to them. But she does this in a more extreme way. But rest assured, she does care for her Master.

Saber Alter in Stay Night was fundamentally still Saber, but in Grand Order, the only thing she shares with her normal self is her bottomless stomach. Not really a fan of her here, to be honest. Especially because they don't play off her mocking and sadistic personqlity that we got to see on display in Shinjuku
