That's what happens when you're given a bucketload of health and damage mitigation in your boss fights, and fast charge on your NP, and also when servant quality back then was far weaker than nowadays. Gawain was a nightmare in the Camelot Singularity especially for masters who didn't grind up their servants and were stuck with the lackluster year 1 servants of the game, but even back then he could be cheesed with the right strats. Nowadays, he's a joke to bulldoze through given just how ungodly swole servants have become.

Oh yes, BAD memories for me. Gawain and Tristan did NOT get a pleasant introduction to FGO. How did Fujimaru Ritsuka first see those two? Oh yes, SLAUGHTERING INNOCENTS IN CAMELOT… And what was our next encounter that I can recall? SE.RA.PH., about ten months later. Less than a year. Here’s the issue: We met Artoria in Fuyuki and London, and thus we have a background impression of her going in to Camelot. The same is true for Mordred thanks to London. I could see impressions of those two being dented by Camelot, but able to recover thanks to those earlier introductions. Our introduction to Bedivere was nothing BUT positive, so we would obviously think the world of him from the start. Agravain isn’t here yet so impressions of him are yet to be solidified. Lancelot is complicated but he at least came over to our side. NOT Gawain and Tristan. The first thing we see them do is murdering people who can’t fight back and ten months later they’re our major allies now. Given the sheer dissonance between the behavior of Tristan of the Camelot Singularity and the Tristan of Chaldea, I could honestly see the Master dissociating them into two separate entities, and even then there would still be trouble. Gawain doesn’t even give us that, because his behavior changes very little after Camelot. Even if his intentions were noble, I would have quite a lot of trouble working with him if that was my first time seeing him, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Chaldean Master suffered NIGHTMARES about it.

@@noahweathers4408 i mean there idea is to follow the king blindly so they dont do the same mistake that they did before because they feel guilty about how the kingdoom ended so you can see how mad they are at them selfes. but all that aside i meant how i missed when camelot first came out in the game and people used to call gawin the hardest boss in the game these were gold times ngl

@@altyar_ You have every right to like him, and I won’t begrudge you for it. But by that same token, I can’t bring myself to do so. And yes, Camelot’s story was enjoyable. Facing Gawain was also for the challenge provided and the catharsis of surpassing him.

Normally each time a servant that get summoned is a new copy of a real spirit from the throne of heroes. FGO just gives fan service to have players enjoy servant interactions.
