I was about to say, all the solos were very by the book, no expression at all, they were focusing on hitting the right notes.

Loved watching the conductor expressing the passion he wanted out of the trumpet soloist. What an amazing ensemble!

It is not fair! Your performance surpassed the quality of many college bands in the U.S.A. in intonation, precision, accuracy, and general musicianship.Not a note missed!

The clarinet soloist and horn soloists were both top of their levels for their ages

I'm not sure why everyone is freaking out about it being memorized. When you practice a piece like this you play it so much you end up memorizing it. I've played marching band music as complex as this in 9th grade and memorized it along with drills in a few weeks and the music took a week or so to memorize at most. But they are still excellent for their age that's for sure

+DorkGirl I think this is a private music school, and the asian culture still is very strict in teaching and education. they most likely spent hours a day just playing.
@lightningstrike20017 жыл бұрын
Malcolm Nathrien I am from Singapore. A years ago we did this song for Singapore Youth Festival (SYF). I only manage to make it to the Poco Animato part by memory before I fell apart. This Korean band is AMAZING.

before every concert my music teacher would sometimes make us turn our stands around for the pieces so we had to play this plus 3 other songs without any sheet music as a warm up. this was when I was in 9th grade.
@zenosama-tm3bs7 жыл бұрын
correction. we never even got the stands yet. we just had our music folders under our chair.

why the oboes be playing like trumpets
@ZachJohnsonDrums5 жыл бұрын
Well it works for them doesn't it
@aurelien26344 жыл бұрын
cause oboes don't play like clarinets and is more confortable with raising the instrument... maybe it is a bit higher than usual (but oboist of this formation are very young)
@tuckrex20384 жыл бұрын
it also projects the sound out so the audience can hear it better, because oboe is more quiet than loud
@xxkissykatxx3 жыл бұрын
Oboes should be held further out, not quite at a 90° angle, but at about 45° from the body, it is proper oboe posture!! (I am an oboeist, but I am played bari sax for this song in high school!!)

@rechan73917 жыл бұрын
