FATEHPUR SIKRI TOUR - Emperor Akbar’s dream abode | ফতেপুর সিক্রি - সম্রাট আকবরের স্বপ্নের শহর

It is almost 500 years back, the brightest star in Mughal Empire of India, made a heavenly abode in a medieval village in today’s Uttar Pradesh in India. Akbar, the great built Fatehpur Sikri, one of the finest building complex in Mughal history. This was his dream project although had to be abandoned due to shortage of water. He made Fatehpur as the capital of Delhi Sultanate for the sentimental fact of getting baby boy in the lap of his beloved Jodha Bai. Seikh Salim Chisti, the great saint made this possible for the emperor.
Akbar was the most tolerant ruler in Mughal history being always respectful to other religions prevailing that time. He made here every monuments here relevant to his rule over India. Around half of a century years before he could think of hospital, schools, swimming pool, singing stage, five storied hawa mahal and what not. He made beautiful houses for his wives and ministers but the great one is for her most beloved wife, Jodha Bai who was a Hindu Rajput by birth and who did not change his religion for marrying a Muslim ruler. And that’s Akbar what made him apart from the rest.
To reach this place you can take cab, auto even the UPTDC buses from Agra. It will take around one hour to cover a distance of 35 KM. There is a good restaurant just aside the bus stand of Fatehpur Sikri.
