I think this ‘Fatele’ has two perspectives, the people there and the people from there but are living overseas in other countries. The first verse is Tama Tuvalu salalau (People of Tuvalu spread around the world) Tou fenua tenei e tu (Your country here still stands) Fia matea ne koe te aso tenei (Do you want to witness this day) 2nd Verse from overseas perspective I aku muna iau se manu lele (I wish I was a bird) Ke mafai o lele atu o kilo oku mata (So i can fly there and witness) Te aso fiafia tenei (This happy day,) Ke fiafia fakatasi ko taua (So we can both celebrate this day)
