We originally hadn't planned on exploring Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Our compass points northwest towards northern California and Washington state to visit family. However, freezing temperatures north of our location forced us to linger in the Las Vegas area for a little longer. Though it's not as if we were upset - our site Jenni found for us in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge was perfect! We rarely mind having to stay in secluded sites like this for longer than planned.
Not only was our site perfect, but we had gotten numerous recommendations from subscribers to visit Red Rock Canyon while near Vegas. After looking into it, we were surprised to find just how expansive Red Rock Canyon is! With nearly 200,000 acres of land, this BLM managed land stretches beyond Las Vegas both northward and southward. And with over two-million visitors each year, we knew Red Rock Canyon was worth exploring.

Beautifully shot and constructed story telling :-) I'd love to see Sweetie when she gets back to the RV. We always enjoy every dog we run across while we're hiking and take every opportunity to pet them and love them if the owners allow us to. It looks like Sweetie once again lives up to here name ..... she was really digging the children in that one shot :-)

Really a super neat vid, guys. Have you investigated some protective boots for Sweetie's paws? It would help with the sharp / rough stones and rocks, but, also, the heat; we know how hot rocks/sand can be (both direct and reflective light). Keep up the good work. Safe travels.
