I had absolutely no reservations about pre ordering this set, but this video makes me feel even better about the purchase. I've always been curious about the Variations. I've always been curious about the Scarlet Mini. But they've always been just out of my price range. And even with great "warm/bassy" IEMs, I always end up wanting MORE BASS. Your original intent with this set is why I bought it, but I'm glad that they put in the impedance adapter. It's like a 2 for 1 deal. I'm excited for the options that this will open up!

So excited for mine to arrive! The more balanced tuning combined with the FF slam is exactly why i choose to pre-order, i love the variations but it feels a bit thin in the midbass for me, so im hoping the Deuce fixes that. The impedance adapter making it a sick basshead set is a great value add to me , as i was on the fence to buy a maestro mini before.

Hey HBB! Thanks for the review, I've been enjoying the Deuce so much lately! Wanna ask though, I only have a 120kW moondrop dawn pro portable amp/dac but i heard it might need more. So do you think that it needs more power? I might look into a new dac/amp if it does. Thanks :D

Gotta congratulate you once again for this incredible collab. Didn't expect the upper treble to be as smooth as the variations. A couple of measurements popped up that claimed otherwise, but honestly, seeing how the rest of the frequency range is as smooth as it is, that's still quite a feat with 2DD's. Wicked set

Just got this set yesterday, and my god was I not dissappointed. I only have mmk2 and supernova to compare it to, and its like adding their best elements + bass. I cant diffrentiate yet between quality and quantity bass, but this bass presentation is really enjoyable. Looks pretty too, but build quality could be better (pin slot looks brittle). This will be a hit regardless, congrats on the collab!!🎉🎉

Congratulations on the collab. Having never heard a variations I’m excited to hear your take on the Monarch 1/ Variations sound. I never doubted that FatFreq was going to deliver a banger, it was the timeframe to deliver that concerned me, but honestly, shipping before Thanksgiving is a pleasant surprise for me. I just recieved the my 4.4mm version of the Duce... Chris what the F did you do??? This slams like I have never ever heard out of an IEM. I am floored! I put on the bass boost adapter and listen to "Ed Solo & Deekline - I Need A Dollar". And I just started laughing at the Bass reproduction. My hat is off to you and the masters at fatFreq. What a super fun and clean sound. All I can Say is wow, wow, wow. I have IEMS that cost hundreds more and no where near as enjoyable a sound. Folks buy this set! I mean it!

You should watch movies/tv shows with sets also cuz you can find stuff that you cant with music. For example you can hear wind/atmosphere/birds/club-room bass how it translates in the IEM that you cant with music. I can hear how a set is tuned and if its not good to my ears that I cant really grasp when listening to music.

Congrats again 🎉 that impedance adapter is dope, too. I don’t mind EQing but I generally just add a bass boost on sets I like and intend to keep. I prefer this option over constant EQ and dip switches etc.

A balance of rhythm section + slam + vocals sounds good to me! It always seems as if there is one important piece that you have to sacrifice in a set, that you can't expect a good balance - unless you are prepared to spend a lot.

That fact that the bass is good and does not muddle the rest of the frequencies is a very good option for those who like more bass punch but want to enjoy everything else. On another note I listen for the first time the version of heart of glass you use in your reviews and found it to be incredibly fun listening. All the best!
