That poor little, not only did he traumatize and make her fearful of her own life, and probably left her with survivor's guilt and PTSD, but he took away her entire fucking world. He took away her childhood innocence, the lives of her brothers, the mother that she knew-the one untouched by so much grief and trauma- and he took away her father. He's an absolute monster and he's left her to reconcile with the fact that the same person who raised her, created so many beautiful, lasting memories is also responsible for upending her entire world. I can't imagine what she's going through, but I honestly hope her and her mother have a good support system, and I don't blame them one bit for not wanting to push through with a trial.

Why? Just why? The defense was planning to take an insanity plea? For something he was thinking about doing since October? That wouldn’t have set well with a jury. I heard his lawyer say the psych evaluations were inconsistent with if it would qualify for the court. The mother and the daughter will relive this horror for the rest of their lives. 3 beautiful young boys gone. It’s so tragic! All I can hope for Mr. Doerman is serious prison justice.
@Indiartworks2 ай бұрын
No, the defense wasn't going to take anything. They were trying to make the plea of NGI, but that obviously wouldn't stand up, that's why he's willing to plead guilty...it's the only way to save his life.

Exactly No plea Only trial where any jury ( except in South Florida) would vote DP
@joshwokojance37902 ай бұрын
I keep seeing people saying this about tax dollars keeping him alive but the reality is that if he went through the trial (which costs a ton of money) and he had gotten the DP, he wouldn’t be getting the shot tomorrow. He would be sitting on death row for decades and he would be protected. He would be racking up more tax dollars for his appeals and court appearances. This is actually a good thing in this case, he’s not likely going to get protective custody and he is likely to get some kind of justice from his fellow prisoners.

Why would his step daughter say she could never hate him? After the heinous crimes I'd be filled with rage and hatred
@littleangel47802 ай бұрын
Rage and hatred consumes people's hearts and minds. Not everyone likes to live that way.
@shell-belly2 ай бұрын
Bc she’s still a child and children aren’t filled with hate. She saw him as her parent, not a step parent. Children are forgiving and love unconditionally. They don’t understand and can’t wrap their heads around evil like this. They love their parents and regardless of the pain those parents cause they still want those parents and crave their love. That is why so many people have toxic relationships with their parents. People who have been emotionally and physically abused their whole lives are able to be manipulated by their parents and still interact with them daily even as adults. Those feelings never go away even in adulthood. We always crave that love and crave being wanted by our parents. It’s not easy for anyone to HATE a parent especially a child and teenage. She is also still working through everything. She’s still trying to process the events that took place. Shes still working to process her emotions on that day and everyday since then. Her INCREDIBLE guilt with having to let go of her brother and hand him over to Chad and blaming herself. In the midst of all of that she probably doesn’t have the energy to even process her feelings towards him and can’t muster the energy for negative feelings. Negative and hateful feelings takes an enormous amount of energy. It’s draining. When someone says they don’t hate and they forgive it’s not for that recipient it’s for themselves. It’s for their mental wellbeing. It’s so they can release all of that and can move on in their healing journey. While we all think it’s very simple, she is her parent, he did bad he tried to hurt her and her mother and took her brothers so she should hate him bc 1 + 1 = 2….it’s definitely NOT that simple. It will never be that simple.

@@pantherinparadise9686 The DP costs just as much as a life sentence. It would be 20+ years before he got anywhere near a needle if he got the DP. This will increase his chances of getting some prison justice and potentially save tax dollars.
