This podcast really helped me. I suffer from debilitating anxiety. Agoraphobia. And hearing Morgan say hey face it. Deal with it. And keep living. I almost canceled my hair appointment bc of my condition and I said screw it. I can do this. I can leave my house and be okay. And you know what? I am!

@@itscharliearthur9094a book I found helpful although it simply states the obvious was “Do it Anyway” from an author who spent 30 years in therapy. The idea being just go do your life despite your depression. Action, doing this, getting busy takes time away from lying in bed and going down the rabbit hole. And as you do things you ACTUALLY get better, just thinking about what’s wrong and what you COULD do or SHOULD HAVE done differently and finding things and people to blame and excuses for staying idle just drag you deeper in the hole. Trouble is once you’re way down there it gets really really hard to just brush your teeth. Ask for help. Ask a friend to give you a couple of days to get up the ladder far enough that you can keep climbing out of the hole. SRIs can stop the ladder rungs from breaking underneath your feet. Wish you good luck. And look up at the sky. There’s heaven above you.

I think you appreciated him because he has time to completely and fully express himself, his ideas feelings, thoughts & opinions without being in a 15 minute segment on a panel interrupting and nobody truly able to say their full true meaning & feelings about any topic. That's why I don't watch these filler segments in talk/gossip entertainment or variety news shows. The host & guest are both great and respectful without trying to up each other with their wits. I truly love this show.

I totally disagree and I have no great love for Piers Morgan. This is a completely different format, it's long form ( literally over an hour and no ad breaks save for Steven telling us about the "journey" he's been on with Huel ) This type of podcast is about finding out who the person is, it's not supposed to confront them or be combatative. A program like Piers one on Talk TV is a completely different format, it's short segments usually about something very specific or topical. If you let the guest talk unchallenged they'll just filibuster, especially politicians who literally specialise in talking for hours whilst saying nothing at all usually. All the sad Tate fanboys were outraged that Piers had the temerity to challenge their hero on the utter bullshit he trots out, which he did a horrible job of defending for anyone remotely objective. Which I consider myself to be far more than the guy above in this comments section given I find Piers tiresome and irritating every bit as much as Tate. But actually in that interview where Tate would just have gassed on endlessly, having Piers challenge him was effective, particularly his ridiculous semantic gymnastics dodge rather than either just owning what he said or saying he no longer believed it. Either of those would be honest responses, not the one he went with which was classic victimhood bullshit that you're so misunderstood..

Because bigoted people are equally as loud and full of hatred and take a delight in destroying the lives of others and incite others to do so. The way he is usually so sensationalist is what turns people away from him, and people don't to listen to him. The second AJS in a row that has to be put right: "People" written as you wrote it means everybody in the world, as you don't specify exactly who you mean, therefore you're stating that everyone in the world is that way, and that's obviously crazily bonkers and most furthest from the truth. All you have to do is add the word "certain" before "people" and that would be good enough. But having said that as for your main part of those specific people who have become that way, on the moral high ground in their own opinion, and think they have the right to be like a new Adolf Hitler or Benjamin Netanyahu and knowingly try to destroy peoples lives at their pleasure, for a sick few hours of entertainment for themselves before they go back to their own self-made depression, like my previous Doctor Christopher Longstaff tried, then yes you're absolutely right and these people need to be destroyed IMO.

Why don't you try and get some knowledge before you write a comment if that's supposed to be all that about all the people in Britain, or worldwide, because what you've written is a lie. My views are basically exactly the same as Piers Morgans, albeit probably mine are on a softer version, and I didn't need reminding about it because it's with me all the time, so stop thinking you know everything about everybody because you absolutely do not, you have a hell of a lot to learn just with the four simple lines that you've written, and thats "simple" in the context of "not that bright".

It takes All Kinds, to make up this World. Piers knows His Kind, and when anyone comes up on his radar, especially people like Meghan Markle. He cannot control Her because she shelved him, and has given Family and Friends the silent treatment. She doesn't have empathy much less boundary recognition. What he says about mental health vs mental illness is true. My mum has suffered from horrendous mental health issues my whole life and is now confined to a secure care home at the age of 62. I’m so so sick of people claiming to have mental health issues when in fact they are just having a bad day or worse, are using mental health as an excuse for their behaviour or lifestyle. I know a number of people who have absolutely done this so I won’t be convinced otherwise. It’s normal to feel stress, sadness, anxiety, fear etc… that’s life! If your job, relationship, appearance etc… is making you stressed or unhappy then change it, don’t just jump on the mental health bandwagon. It belittles and undermines those who have serious genuine problems and gives the perfect excuse for people who want to place blame on something other than themselves. It’s also stretching mental health services to breaking point when they should only be used by those who genuinely need them, not people that just can’t or won’t cope with life’s ups and downs. Sorry but that’s the truth in many cases.

Jo, Jo. I respect your view totally as I have friends who are teachers and who are fed up with the apparent world view that teachers have to make up for all of societal failures by filling in the gaps of absent or inadequate parenting. However, I do believe that given the amount of time children are in school compared to the time spent at home, I am wondering if there is any merit in some of the life skills that Piers mentioned that could be taught at school - not by teachers perhaps but by other adults ? Perhaps volunteers could run a programme for this? I have met wonderful retired people whose chaotic childhoods were turned around by a teacher who went above and beyond and who steered them onto a more positive path and who would be willing to give something back to children who may benefit from such a programme. After all, it does indeed take a village to raise a child. Regards to all.

I think today’s generation is ill prepared to deal with it though. I am glad i grew up when stress wasn’t even talked about. It wasn’t a thing like now. We just dealt with issues as they came and took them in stride. And i can say i have never seen people on medication like we do now. Young people on antidepressants. Unheard of. We are creating crutches for dealing with life issues instead of showing them how to handle life’s situations and that they are normal part of life and no need to be medicated to deal with them.

Agree. But Piers wasn't wrong, either. The whole reason that so many people now are more likely to "misunderstand" the use of the word is exactly because so many many of them have been raised with this propensity to give in to self-pity, to think that normal life problems are somehow not normal. This is partly a generational thing: I think hardly anyone over 50 is going to be as much a victim of their emotions as the younger generations now (nor were they ever), and the younger generations are all likely to think that the older generations just aren't "enlightened" enough and don't "understand." To some extent, there's nothing new about that. ;)

I think the problem with feeling the need to have a strong opinion on every thing is that you have to simplify everything in order to do that. I know I used to do that a lot as well. But when it comes to human and societal issues, there are just soooo many factors that come into play. Also Piers may have experienced a lot of adversity himself and he may have managed to get himself out of it using his own version of resilience, but people are different and people face different types of adversities which means they need different types of resilience to get them out. Most of what Piers said I agree with it 50%. I find myself constantly thinking, “yes that’s true. I agree with that. However…” thinking in black and white doesn’t make sense. And drawing parallels between animals and people doesn’t quite work either. If we just think about the main differences between most wild animals and humans, it’s the self reflection, empathy, and the fact that our society evolves way quicker than our brains. So you can’t apply a solution for wild animals to humans, because the truth is that our environment has a significant impact on how our brain develops. Also I think he underestimates how having a family that’s supportive of individualism is a huuuuuge privilege. The way your brain develops is so different when you grow up around good role models who encourage you to be your own person, vs when you’re living in constant fear and in survival mode because you’ve always been shows that bad things happen when you don’t do exactly as you’re told. Either way, I get what piers is saying and again, there’s a lot I can somewhat agree with, but I think he’s missing perspective of people from very different walks of life, and education about all of these psychological issues. Even he himself can’t define the line between wallowing and genuine issues. Also piers please let people talk. You can’t claim to be open minded and have all this great perspective if you don’t let other people speak!

Hats off to both, one of the best interviews I have seen. Steven is indeed someone who interviews going forward is one to watch. He asked the right questions but more importantly waited for the replies, did not jump in, stop the reply half way though. Something Piers could learn from when interviewing others. Not Piers biggest fan by any means, however for once I thought he did himself proud.

I'm not a fan of Piers but it's refreshing to hear him have a calm and open conversation, you get a little insight to the man... Great interview 👌🏾

I don't think I have ever enjoyed an interview soooo much. I read a quote one day which changed my life "Other people's opinion of me is none of my business." My life has changed so much as a result of that quote. Wish I had seen it years ago; however, I saw when "I" needed to see it. I am entitled to my opinion, just as everyone else is, doesn't mean we all have to agree. Thank you again for this interview and your honesty.

First time ive watched your show.Great interview ! Thoughly loved it !! Also really enjoyed getting to know piers better,as I do agree with him on alot of points he made, freedom of speach really is the only thing we should all have. We are all petrified to say the wrong thing these days.(As long as its not malicious or cruel) I used to love a good laugh and banter at work. Even a few practical jokes with each other. I feel every time you open your mouth you are being judged, so people never see the real you. Its normal for most people do want to be liked, you just have to find your type of people, if you want to be yourself.
