This is my favorite type of trick. You take a couple of long established tricks and put a new and personal spin on them. The end result is a beautiful thing. Any good magician can see immediately how this is done, but the execution and fresh spin makes it enjoyable anyway! Well done!

@@woofwoof5250 1st part: he asked for the number first... basically, he has already prepared 56 different "notes" where jet sky is in the correct position. The whole app was prepared to simulate an iphone home screen. He swiped 2 times (20) and then open a "notes" app (position 5). Also, if you know the iphone notes app, that's definitely not the app and 99% of the people don't download a new app for notes. 2nd part: A classic force card. It's magic 101... no matter what card it's pointed out, with a little of sleight of hand he would pick up the 5 of heart... even more, he made a mistake and named the card before seen it. 3rd part: a double lift card (other basic method). Basically, he picked up 2 cards (5 heart and blank card) from the top, then flip both and take the top card (blank/used to be under the 5)... then place that card on Simon's hand. The blank card was there from the start. 4rd part: while the son is distracting everyone, he just bend the card and put in his right hand. 2:18 If you see carefully, you would see that it's half-closed in an unnatural position. Just compare it to the left hand. 5rd part: The son pass the wallet to his dad. If the son would actually get the card out right there, I would be surprised, but he didn't. The wallet have a hole that he covers with his hand. He just has to push the card in. Then he said some no sense that the "only way" is the zipper. Basically, he already inserted the card though the hole, so his son just pulled it out. Final part: Just reveal an already prepared board with the "5 of heart" (part 2) and the photo (part 1)

@@ViXoZuDo Just a couple of notes... 1.- He asks Simon to think and say a number between 1 and 56 so he MUST have 56 noteblocks on his phone or either have an assistant off stage with 56 noteblocks who has to select the propper one and send it to his phone (could be through an email, whatsapp, or even by bluetooth depending on how far away they are) if it is done that way it's cleannier cause you do actually have only ONE noteblock on the phone and it could be checked. 2.- You forgot to mention that he did a little prework on Simon to make sure he would choose his son's name Eric. The magician starts the act by talking about his own son, the fact that he wants to become a magician and how strong is the link between a son and a father and being that Simon has only one son, all that prework ensures that when he asks Simon to think of the name of the most important person in his life, that person will be his son. This is needed because the board that is covered with that cloth is already printed the whole time, both the phrase "Simon and Eric" (in a way that upside down reads "five of hearts") and the picture of Simon and Eric on a Jet Ski.

@@manusoftar I know that the sync note app could be used, but it's unreliable considering how small was the window he had (like 5 seconds between the number and the app). If the internet connection fails, then you're fk up... Creating a basic app is not that hard. I'm a software developer and I could create the app in 1 day. Usually the tricks that use internet, say something at the start and then show an "email/picture/etc" at the end, so they could make sure the internet would not fk them up. And yep, I missed explaining the name/son part. I watched the video early and didn't remember the whole thing.

@@cookiemonster88909 You couldn't see it in the video on purpose, each deck was marked with a number telling the position of Simon's card. Once Simon gave the number, the magician merely scrolled to that number. He even goes, here it is. By the time the camera can see his phone, the one he picked was open and covering the other decks. That's why it didn't matter which number Simon picked, and the guy didn't have to memorize anything. He was literally playing with a marked deck, well 56 decks if you get technical. I had to spend some time, but when he opened his phone you can clearly for a second him scrolling before he goes, here it is, or however he phrased it.

It was the classic trick of leading by suggestion. Notice how he mentions the concept of 'father and son' in the minutes before asking Simon to write down the name of someone special to him. Yes it would not have worked if Simon hadn't written Eric but it was a pretty safe bet that he would after that suggestion.

He choose the 25th app/link, opened the list, and 25 was jetski. If for example Simon would say 12, he would have then opened the ‘app’ relating to 12, which has jetski on the 12th position of the list. It was all predetermined, excepts Eric’s name. I wonder what they would do if he came with another name. They must have a plan B then.

@@jasminderpinder Oh it was definitely suggestion, and the fact that Simon has never publicly seemed to show any affection for anyone other than his son made it a very safe bet. But, magicians that use prediction tricks like this almost never rely on suggestion and safe bets. They rely on what they can control and multiple outs, lest they risk looking like an idiot in front of a full audience (and in this case a pretty big TV audience too). It was ballsy.

@@emilynicole5109 The force on picking jetski is easy - there will have been multiple lists (he says there was one, but there will have been several he could call on after hearing the number). Forces on cards can be done lots of ways, but basically you slip the card under the one they pick. Him picking his son was obvious - he only has one son and will be the most important person in his life. If for some reason he didn't pick his son they would have had another out planned. If he picked his partner for example, he would have said - oh you two have a son together Eric. If he picked David Walliams he would have said, you both have sons, etc. Swappin the signed card for a blank card is quite simple - he would have had the blacnk card under the signed one and used sleight of hand to make it look like he put the signed card on his hand. That also means he has the signed card in his posession. So he can hold it up and get it ready when his son comes over with the wallet, then he slips it into the wallet with sleight of hand (yes it has a zip, but will also have another way in that you can't see. The rest is just showmanship really

if you look at 1:10 you can clearly see that the five of hearts is at the bottom of the deck. So when Simon touches the back of a random card, using slight of hand he slides the five of Hearts from the bottom of the deck into roughly that position, where it looks as though Simon has selected the five of hearts

I have seen so many tricks, know how so many are performed, that it does take a lot to impress me. The jet ski photo was a very nice touch, you have to admit. As it was directed at Simon, and when you make at least one of the judges part of the trick, you are on to a winner if it succeeds.

This is the easiest to figure out of any “magic” act I’ve seen. Usually I can’t figure them out, but here you can see step-by-step what’s coming. I am embarrassed for the guy’s son.

Ok, this one is just too simple... SPOILER ALERT, if you don't want to know how, I believe, this trick could have been done, stope reading now, you've been warned.. 1.- Cellphones can be controlled remotely, even though he says he HAS one list, Simon calls the number 25 before he shows the list, which gives enough time for somebody behind the scenes to send the list that has the JetSky on the number 25. That covers the first part. Another posibility is that it is indeed a lie that he has only one list on the phone and he picks the appropiate one once Simon calls the number. 2.- Simon was prepared to choose his son when asked for the most important person on his life by the magician talking about the relationship with HIS own son and all the story about his son selecting the idea for the magic trick and wanting to become a magician. James Piper just preworked Simon to make sure he would definately choose his son's name. 2 BIS.- There are too many ways James could force the 5 of hearts into Simon that I could not explain everyone, but the important thing is that the card IS forced. 3.- James does a clearly visible DL (double lift) to make Simon's card "change to a blank card" while he keeps the actual card on top of the deck in preparation for the wallet. 4.- That wallet is a commercial prop that can be bought on any magic store, I never had one, but I know that they are gimmicked in a way you can easily insert the selected card inside, it could have even more layers, like more wallets into wallets if wanted. The very moment Dylan gives his father the wallet I knew that he inserted the card at that moment. I have to be honest, if James didn't touch the wallet they would have fooled me completely... 5.- The big board they reveal at the end was printed the whole time, since the card was forced, the were going to do it and did it with Simon and James worked Simon to choose his son's name, they knew what had to be printed, and the 5 of hearts was choosed because it was the best option for the upside down illusion where it becomes "Simon & Eric" 6.- As I said before, the list was manipulate in one of many ways to ensure that whatever number Simon choose would be the one associated with the Jet Sky, the picture was printed the whole time, there was only one out on this trick and was that one. Summarizing, this was basically a pretty big FORCE both on the card, on Simon's son's name, and on the item from the list. 5.-
