Don't feel left out, it's way more fun to ride than rebuild😁. We have it easy with 2 strokes. Devon was brave to pull his 350 apart.

They make me laugh they said they wanted to make a good rebuild video because there wasn't any. However they fast forward the main parts not showing people how them part's go bk together so it turned out to be a pointless video. If you want a step by step video go to rocky mountain channel. Hopefully you will read this comment before you waist your time watching there video

fantastic to work with your son BUT i didnt see any attention to the cylinder ie measuring out of true, any form of honing but dont hone nikosil bores. all pistons should be measured and most cases a rebore, a hone or re nikosil bore to piston size is required. the rings should be gapped, the squish should be measured and adjusted accordingly. a piston to head gap should be around 0.8mm for best results. i rough swirl the intake and polish the exhaust outlet for best results. all of the above id do as a minimum but for a good safe performing engine the fueling has to be right. best bit of video was father son relationship but thats not how id builld an engine.

You can take off the exhaust springs with a screwdriver and some CRC. Spray the CRC on to loosen them up if they are rusty like my ones. Thread the shaft of the screw driver through the hook on the end of the spring and pull and eventually they come off. Mine came off in about 30 seconds even though they were fully rusted.

Great vid. I just bought a seized KX 85. Big step up from what I've done before so having a top end rebuild that isn't a constant time lapse with no instructions is such a big help!😁

You had made a comment on how many hours were on it? We’re you being sarcastic when you said it had over 100hrs? I’m a noob and I gotta be mechanic dad for my daughters kx 65 and 85. She’s in between the two bikes right now.
@dashrides26793 жыл бұрын
I don't know how many hours were on it before we bought it, but it was clearly overdue. 100 hours is probably fine if it's trail ridden. If you plan on racing, then it will be less than that. These top ends are very easy to work on.

We carefully clean the head and the power valve with a Scotch Brite pad. You can scrub the power valve pretty hard, but go easy on the head.
