Bloody disgusting how dowry is still a thing in India. I have friends from Andhra, who tell me that it is quite rampant there still. Fathers of daughters start hoarding gold from a young age. And If the boy is from IIT, rates easily go above 1 crore. Gold business is booming because of dowry there, among other reasons. PS - Andhra folks please dont be offended. Its pointless to get angry at the truth. If you had been this offended about the dowry problem, I would not have said this. Use you anger in the right direction. Also, yeah, I know, all of India has problems, but every region has its own unique social evils, and this is yours.
